I like good sequels.

hahha yea very true lol
Sequels are easier to develop (and to sell also). New IPs are costly. You're right their are few new IPs for this generation, and that's the main problem.
Go buy Metroid OTHER M!

Devil May Cry. Super Mario Bros (hmmm...). The Legend of Zelda. Baldurs Gate. Sim City. The Sims. Civilization. Half-Life. Doom. Quake. Golden Eye (Hmm... again). Command and Conquer. Wii Sports. Wii Fit. Guitar Hero. Dance Dance Revolution. Brain Training. Portal.
Most of these games CREATED a genre. Sure, you might argue that the sequels are sometimes better, but you cannot argue their impact. Without these games, where would the industry be today? ... Not where it is today anyway.
And if you say 'Wii sports and Wii Fit is just new control' you've totally missed the point of those games.

all games were new at one point. i think you missed my point. read the OP again. I was saying that most innvation comes from sequels not new games. legend of zelda 64 was way more invative the the 1st one.
Also he answered my question which you didnt read. he stated 3 New games that are clones of other games. Wii fit is a Dance dance clone (you move off screen it moves on screen), wii sports is has controls of the acrade. its not new just its selling like crazy
Also what i am talking about is lately there have been to many articles about how sequels is killing the industry and blah blah blah but im arguing that thats not true. Mab EA sports is, but Innvative sequels like the games ive metioned before are just as new and fresh as any "new" title would be. In fact all the new titles this gen are clones of things already done before.
So in short im saying that sequels are just as needed as "new" titles and id argrue even more so.

Wii Fit a Dance Dance clone? You've misunderstood why the game is sold out everywhere, take another look at the game. As for Wii Sports being "not new just its selling like crazy," the same could be said for FF7 and Gran Turismo 3. You also say Wii Sports just copies the arcade, ignoring the fact that Halo 2 copies what was availible on computers. Those games were not innovative, they were merely polishing up on the old games.
As for all your other "innovative" sequels, they're mainly just old series making the transition to 3D. Of course it's going to be different from its 2D versions. Still, I don't know how you can say the first Mario isn't at least as innovative as Mario 64, same goes for the Zeldas. I'd go on, but it seems you ignored Killergran's list, I'd look at it again. For every "innovative" sequel you might be able to name, there are many more innovative new IP's.
Usually I would hate sequels because some of them tend to be bad.. but their are some exceptions like Banjo Tooie, or PM TTYD where they are good and some bad.. but overall they tend to be bad so I wouldn't love sequels much.
Some sequeals improve the franchise and others bring it down.

Some people think waggle is innvative some dont. nintendo brought the arcades home (light gun, dance pad, bowling etc all in the arcades) i worked at one of the biggest arcades for years and all had the same controls. Wii fit is a little different then a dance pad but get the point. You step on the pad and the character reacts on screen. Its been done before.
no wii fit has not been done before.
by your definition all games are the same. Wether you are stepping on a button or pushing one with your finger it does something in game. I can play a game with my feet on a controller if i want.
can you do the hoolahoop game, or the soccer heading game on any other dance pad. no you can't.
wiisports i don't know, i think there are probably arcades that simulate swinging bats or what not. but still nice to bring it fully to a home console, and not as just an add on
