Yeah I am passionate about that I have a 5 year old and little girl and though me and my older love the 360 its not the best gaming systme for them, my girl wants a WII and she is a casual gamer and its perfect for her so this christamas that is what she is getting. There is a reason there are three sucessful (finally MS made some money on xbox) consoles because they each have a place could we support 4 possibly but three seems to have most of the bases covered

And this proves why so many people recommend the Wii thanks fore list man :)

Take note sir, he removed every multiplatform 360 and PS3 game, which affected the results greatly. I'm not sure why that was done in the first place, because the list maker never said anything about multiplats not counting, he just wanted original IPs. Putting mutliplats back in would probably push both 360 and PS3 ahead of the Wii.
Also take into account that the list maker left in Sing Star, Warhawk, Siren: Blood Curse, Skate It, Rune Factory Frontier, Beautiful Katamari, and Project Sylpheed, which are all either sequels or enhanced ports of last gen games.
Also take into account that the list maker decided to not add in downloadable games, which were the crux to see where the original IPs really were available at.
In fact everything the list maker did not include is exactly what swings the favor in the Wii's direction. Deliberate or accidental, I don't know.
My compiled list of all new non-sequel, non-remake, non-licensed games with a Metacritic score of at least 75. It's not perfect and I may have missed some or added too many. There are exceptions. I included Orange Box for Portal and I included Strong Bad and Penny Arcade even though they have previous "franchises", but I removed all movie and, therefore, Lego games. I'd say there's still plenty of original titles being produced.

You can add Viva Pinata back in. The saturday morning cartoon was created in conjunction with the game. Each were basically marketing for the other. The game was not based off the cartoon, it's the other way around.
While I'm not sure if even this list is 100% accurate, it does paint a better picture of where the original IPs are.
@ xman: Yeah I'm like you in a way, I've always been a PC gamer, but it was my kids that got me into console gaming last gen. I guess you can say I'm in the Causal Gamer crowd. I just wanna play a game to relax could care less what system. =/
@ Onyxmeth: I'm sorry sir no slant in the slightest. It was asked what systems had the most exclusive new IP's, from a poster, so I was curious as well. The PSN, as well as the XBLA, and WiiWare games...as I stated in this thread...I consider all new IP's. ...If you want to look at it in "some" way, it supports is that there are more NEW ip's then previously though.
@ noslodecoy: Good list, kinda goes back to what I just mentioned above, that their is more newer IP's then previously thought, just not alot of "Blockbusters" that gamers seem to want.
The Interweb is about overreaction, this is what makes it great!
...Imagine how boring the interweb would be if everyone thought logically?

I know. Like I said, I didn't want to be all accusatory so I left it open that this could have been nothing more than an oversight. What you did however was unintentionally slant things in favor of the Wii.
1. Multiplats are more prone to being bounced between the PS3 and 360, so by not including them, you take more from them than you will the Wii.
2. Using future titles bodes well for the Wii in the case of third parties because of a late development start by them in comparison to the 360 and PS3.
3. Not counting downloadable titles because they are all original(which isn't true by the way) goes in favor of the Wii because their DL service, WiiWare just started in April, and it's library can't compete yet with either the PS3 or the 360.
Just look at the other list made, which doesn't show unreleased titles, does show multiplats and does show DL titles, and look at how different the slant becomes, heavy in favor of the 360.
