I never said the PS3 wasn't doing optimally in Japan nor did I exclaim to be some sort of ultimate authority. I was referencing that these alarmist comments about PS3 being dead in Japan are stupid. The PS3 will do fine in Japan once the criteria are met that I outlined. Smaller profile / Final Fantasy XIII / White Knight Story / Little Big Planet.
The Wii is a run away success in all territories. That is not debatable.

You still dont understand what I am making fun of, do you? It makes zero difference that there are people in Akihabara talking about the power of PS3. PS3 is any technophile's dream and Akihabara is those people's headquarters. Not too mention that anectodal evidence is not real evidence. I remember people echoing in any gamestop about how Wii is a joke and PS3 has an amazing cell processor, and we both know how that turned out. Also what is the point of mentioning that you are in Japan for six months, that just begs to be ridiculed.
PS3 is already at its cheapest in Japan (even with weak dollar, at current conversion rate PS3 40gig costs 340$). And Sony had two years and several models to reduce PS3's size but as you may have noticed every new model of PS3 is the same exact size. It will be years before PS3 will be smaller and out of the games you have listed only Final Fantasy has a proven track record. Plus, how many times does it need to be proven that a game or two cant change the fate of a console. You need a steady stream and considering that Final Fantasy is not coming out until 2009( most likely in Fall considering that the demo is coming out in spring) PS3 is not fulfilling the steady stream requirement.
