I could see 10 years... but the system starting to lose its luster by its 8th year, making sales decline. By the 10th it will have still survived, but will have sold barely anything (compared to its competition). Of course, Hirai planned 10 years, so it makes sense.
As for 15 years, I will only say, using my above statement as some sort of thesis, that it is possible. Not probable or likely at all, but possible.

Why stop at 15? I'm gonna go with 21! Then it'll be able to hang out in bars and that's what cool mature gamers want.

Nah. People will already start wanting new consoles in a few couple years and the PS3 will be considered outdated. Blu-Ray players will probably drop price and there will be a whole bunch of other factors. PS3 lasting 10 years is already a stretch, but it isn't passing anything.

 agreed. Who would buy a PS3 when the next gen Wii and Xbox are out? not many people...who will buy a PS4? tons of people (barring it isn't another $700 console)
