It certainly won't be as big as wii sports. Somehow I don't see Jon Steward playing Little Big Planet at the Oscars.

You can find me on facebook as Markus Van Rijn, if you friend me just mention you're from VGchartz and who you are here.

Maybe monty pythons holy grail, not indiana jones authetic real holy grail
“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.
no, i probably wouldnt, but thats not gonna happen as far as i can see.
Sony is noticing how important LBP can be for the PS3, so there are trying to release news about it all over the place, there are many commercials for the PS3 with LBP in them, and heck, there are even costumes of sackboys from LBP.
So, i think many people will see this game and get interested because Sony seems to have realized how great this game can be for them.
Even i at one point believed it wouldnt do that great, but Sony is doing great things with and for this game, so I now believe that LBP could be a big or huge title for the PS3 and maybe even a turning point for the PS3. Who knows? only time will tell.
There are channels that you have to go through to attract customers, but usually it's a chain, certain customers like myself for example aren't easily attracted without word of mouth, everyone has their case.
Could it sell to everyone like Wii sports did? I don't think so, for a lot of people Wii Sports and Brawl were the reasons for picking up the Wii.. two very clashing ends... Wii sports is the bench mark for innovation and Brawl is the epitome of traditional.
Can LBP fit in there? Innovative value.... I don't know.. in order for something to be recognized for that innovation it has to be marketable; Sega had PSO and online.. the first to bring online functions to a console... they went bankrupt. So innovation doesn't always mean $.
Sony from what I've heard has been putting their best leg forward.. I'll you tube some of their ad's in a bit.
I'm Unamerica and you can too.
The Official Huge Monster Hunter Thread:
Because since FFXIII isn't exclusive anymore, Sony fanboys can't hype this game to death so they found another one to do hype.
How many cups of darkness have I drank over the years? Even I don't know...

Yeah, because sony fanboys are the ones that put out ads and that set up media events for LBP.
Thank god we have you to set the record straight.
Because a lot of sony fanboys have the following time line for the future of the console wars.
1: Wii is outselling PS3 2 to 1 every month.
2: Something AWESOME happens
3: PS3 is outselling Wii, like, 100 to 1 every month and all the Wiis get confiscated by the government for some reason and everyone is forced to buy a PS3. Everyone.
Now, people are just looking for the Awesome thing to happen to turn the PS3 around and make it a 100 million seller like some people are predicting.
You need to remember this mind set has been going around a while. Remember 'wait until X'? How about 'Once the Wii passes the GameCube/XBox/20 Million it's not going to sell anymore'? Or 'everyone is eventually going to buy HD TVs and have an extra 500$ that they hate and want to get rid of'? Or the old favorite 'Well, PS3 is on a ten year life cycle despite the fact that that makes no sense, so it's going to be outselling the wii when the wii gets replaced by the Wii2 and nintendo sells 100 million of those'? It's kind of like that.
Wii has more 20 million sellers than PS3 has 5 million sellers.
Acolyte of Disruption
It's a game that is attempting to innovate with user-created content and breath fresh air into an industry dominated by shovelware and sequels. It also happens to have a very user-friendly interface and appealing character designs, hence its mass-market potential.
Whether or not LBP ends up pushing systems is up to Sony's marketing and user/critical reaction. All this speculation is useless, especially on a title with limitless potential yet restricting factors such as entry price and userbase.

Of course not since the Oscars will be hosted by Sackboys. The whole ceremony will be reminiscent of Sony's E3 conference.
