Forums - Microsoft - 360's sold out in Japan? (pics)

Seems it's not just MS and 360 fans/fanboys that are bullish on the 360 in Japan.

From sinobi:

"If you have a (I think this is the right translation) large retailer near you, you've probably already noticed, but ever since the price drop last week the Xbox 360 sections have grown tremendously. There are minor differences from store to store, but it appears on average the sections have been expanded 2 to 3 times. With the 11/20 release of 'The Last Remnant' it appears many shops are gearing up for the fall shopping season. Also, the sales last week were 13k. For the 2nd week in row, it has beaten it's rival, the PS3."

This should also help sell a lot of other 360 games in Japan. This is probably good for UI, ES and BD.

I went to some stores around my smallish city of Kumamoto.

The 360s were completely sold out of all three models where I went. MS seems to be having a shortage again.  Wiis and PS3s are very well in stock, though.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials

Conservatives:  Pushing for a small enough government to be a guest in your living room, or even better - your uterus.

well, so next week it could little more than 10K, or less than 10K,

I guess it really depends on how Microsoft restocks the channel. MS could have lots of consoles in Japan, and retailers are having trouble getting them from the distribution center, or Japan could be running dry in terms of total available consoles.

Last time, during ToV, there were around 32,000-35,000 consoles in the entirety of Japan for sale. This time around, there has been no less than 43,000 which is a good improvement. Ultimately, I am sure that MS has more consoles on the way, and quickly. The question is how long does it take for the supply chain to put those consoles into retail centers. We could see the X360 slow burn at 10,000 units for awhile, or it could drop ToV style, only to get a major boost 2-3 weeks down the road. It'll be interesting to see what happens.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

so in few more days, we will have a Japan number. i think Japan Condition is more on good demand.

I'll check out the stores tomorrow or the day after to see how things are. I had to rush home today to make sure that I was home to get my package (Grandia 3 Limited Edition w/Strategy Guide, not bad for ~$15 from Yahoo Auctions JP, hehe)

starcraft: "I and every PS3 fanboy alive are waiting for Versus more than FFXIII.
Me since the games were revealed, the fanboys since E3."

Skeeuk: "playstation 3 is the ultimate in gaming acceleration"

so almost the same as i predicted, if based on Famitsu number, it is 10K on X360 and PS3 getting even lower.

next week, i bet Xbox 360 will be > 14K (have better stock/supply)

and to smbu2000, i wait your next photo, maybe right now using different angle/spot :)
