If the sales are like this, the congrats for Nintendo as they have shown that they know how to make their consoles.



Unfortunately, the talk of the town now is NOT how they sell consoles, but how they cannot sell games......that is going to take a few more months in order the dispel that rumor as well.

Can anyone give any insight on how those numbers have been compiled? Are they just gueses or are they based on NPD tracked sales information?

^As far as I can tell, no they do not get access to NPD numbers early.... these are just predictions.

They look at gray sales indicators like games selling above retail on Ebay...as well as NPD historical data...and probably some channel checks.

But its not NPD data. Its an EEDAR projection/expectation

Never heard of this "EEDAR" thing. Will watch to see how accurate their predictions turn out to be. Their website leads one to believe they are very professional.
