i dont see what you're getting at. the 40gb ps3 was £100 more than the 20gb 360. so essentially, nothing has changed.
@DOATS1
Guess you found the Play.com one buy searching instead of looking for it on the 'console' pages. The 20GB is not reduced though, it's still the same price. EDIT: Wow, at Play.com a 60GB 360 is the same price as a Wii. If MS don't get some sales I'd think they really are starting to get desperate in Europe.
This does all seem a bit sudden, maybe MS released that due to Sony's WW 80GB, they thought they should extend their 60GB WW and have done so in a rush o undercut the 80GB PS3.
After this though, there will be no difference I don't think.
Hmm, pie.
That's a fantastic offer at Play.com - the 360 must surely see sustained growth in the UK at this price point.
Edit: considering the official price point in america is $349 in the US compared to £199 in UK, it's also nice to see Microsoft aren't screwing the UK with the exchange rate (it's practically the norm over here to expect $1 = £1 from most companies)

I know, though i am considering getting a 60GB HDD as well if it is reasonably priced

Is that pic of the black 360 the 60 gig or elite?

If you consider that Europe recently had a £50/50Euro price reduction and the US hasn't, I dunno. Unless MS worked out that can afford it due to the weak dollar at the moment and the price reduction was just more along the lines of a price equaling.
PS, who does $1 = £1? Yes we get screwed byt never that bad. Most are still like it was 5 or 6 years ago when it was £1=$1.5
Hmm, pie.
so we can expect a 60gig premium for 269€ in EU starting from spetember? that would be great!
