Forums - Nintendo - Will They Ever Re-Make Pokemon Silver and Gold?

hope so....but like someone said before: A game for the wii with all the 4 regions, all the pokemons, and all gym leaders with respective leagues (also include the orange, i believe it was called). That would be the best. And be compatible with the DS games (diamond, pearl and platinum???)

That would just be awesome....i know is just a dream =( Dreaming is for free anywayz

Haven't they already remade it? Every version is the same exact game with different names...

Exactly!!

No, not exactly.

What they add new demons every game.  Sorry that just does not do it.  The storyline is the same.  I understand they got that idea from Square with their Final Fantasy games.  Can't they come up with a different idea, instead of doing the same thing with slightly better graphics?

There IS coding of Johto inside the Diamond and Pearl games, such as some items being from Johto, such as Apricorns, but there are no hack codes (Action Replay or GameShark) that can access them. I even have a photo someone posted on the PokeBeach forums and then on the Serebii forums. Someone got this Chikorita via GTS, and the data for the character was checked and it was confirmed from the person and from disecting the game coding that this Chikorita, is in fact, from Johto. There are some AR and GS codes to affect the Original Trainer number and Original Trainer name, but this Chikorita was also uploaded to the Pokemon Wii game, Pokemon Battle Revolution, and DID NOT turn into a Bad Egg. Here's the picture of the Chikorita:

This is the most telling evidence of the Pokemon team's intentions. Thanks for posting this!

Well, this just hit me, but Datel DID NOT make an Action Replay until mid-summer/late summer for the DS that had those codes. So it's VERY weird that there would be no way to use an Action Replay to hack and alter data on Diamond/Pearl a month after the game's release.

The games are making more money then past games, why would they change. I still love pokemon, platinum seems to add some DS elements to it if you see some of the scans. Like making the character move in different ways.

Just as a note, Pokemon Diamond/Pearl uses a 128 MB card. However, for some reason it only uses under 70 MB of that space. I can't really think of too many reasons to have done that, but perhaps since higher-storage cards have slower data transfer rates, the Pokemon team was just setting a standard for their games with the load speeds of Diamond/Pearl so nobody would note any significant changes even if they made a game using the full 128 MB (which would be quite a large game).

To compare, Final Fantasy IV on the DS, with all its 3D graphics and voice acting, was a 128 MB game.

The Pokemon team will have no trouble remaking Gold/Silver. In fact, I wonder why they haven't made a full 3D Pokemon on the DS yet since it can probably handle one (though it most likely has to do with the Pokemon team not being too familiar with 3D graphics).

They better remake G/S and I love it because you get to go to 2 areas which means longer play time.

I would buy a new hand held system just for a gold/silver remake. I put over 300 hundred hours into silver. I loved that game as a little kid!

What is the difference in all the Pokemon games?
