I'm gonna get mass effect,bioshock, dead rising, and gears of war for it. that'll be it, till GoW2 releases. i will still play more ps3 just because of cod4, resistance, and gta4. of course, i cannot wait till little big planet comes out. when that comes out, no other system will be touched.

You own a great console. Try an get the receipt from your friend, so you can prove you're in the 3 year warranty. Of course, you could also tell them that it was a gift, if it rrod's. However, just keep a fan on it while you're playing, or buy the new intercooler(not the older one, it will rrod your console).
I just use a low output fan pointed at the base of the vertically standing console. This ensures that the airflow is from bottom to top, cooling the entire unit.
