rts
RTS for me, feels more like real war then TBS and with TC Endwar coming in almost two months. True RTS with the power of voice command.
i prefer turn based. i really dont like to be rushed to do something.

So are you saying there's no strategy in real military conflicts? Mmmmm. :P I choose real time, but if you played Warcraft 2 you could tell that from my avatar.

what can you tell from my avatar?

honestly, what RTS's are you playing.
Any RTS that's worth my time that I can think of offers plenty of counters to "rushing."
Rushing is the easiest strategy to pull off (usually) and if you're no good, you'll lose to it everytime. It's also one of the easiest to counter.

Turn-based, because the entry barrier to RTS is too high for most people. I have yet to find a gentle-learning-curve RTS that doesn't start with three generic sword-wielding guys as your only units.
There have been some wonderful examples of both but I much prefer turn based particularly for multi-player. If you play turn based, even a novice of the game can have an enjoyable game going up against an experienced opponent. With RTS, a novice usually gets overwhelmed pretty quickly by the experienced user, and the novice doesn't get a chance to learn much from the experience other than they suck. My DS doesn't get used for much more than the games from the Advance Wars franchise.
I like turn based a lot better, Its not about quick reflexes its about strategy and effecient turn use

i like "total war" type of games: real time that still leaves room for strategy...in other RTS it's usually a question of quickness with mouse and keyboard.
Excluding the total war series i prefer turn based games...also i prefer turn based combat in RPG.
