Forums - Gaming - For those who like JRPGs, how promising are Infinite Undiscovery and....

.....the Last Remnant to you, so far?

Around the Network

Infinite Undiscovery=very promising if previews are of any indication
The story, from the little we know of it, sounds pretty interesting. The gameplay looks really good as well.

The Last Remnant=pretty good from what I can tell
The story seems interesting and the gameplay, if done right, with be good as well

I am excited about both...

They both look excellent and Square Enix could really use the sales to help drive development of FF XIII.

In Infinite Undiscovery, there are no random battles, correct?

I'm more excited for LR than for IU. Hope both are good though.

I most excited about IU. Square Enix is not the company they were in the past and frankly I'm cautious about any title they produce that isn't a remake of their classic hits. I used to be Square Enix titles sight unseen but after FFVII, FFVIII, FFX-2, and FFXII, I have a significantly lower opinion them than I did in the past.

more excited about last renmant will likely be my first jrpg this generation.

huge battles and a good storyline to boot.

infinity undiscovery looks nice, but its looks like spin off of star ocean

Seriously (and I would like to say I'll buy them both), they look absolutely the same and don't feel original at all.

How many cups of darkness have I drank over the years? Even I don't know...

IU not original?  You must have high standards for originality if you think IU is unorignal.  The gameplay is a little different from from the typical JRPG.  JRPGs are slowly becoming stale so IU is actually going to be fresh air for a lot of people.  Other than the used take on the turn based battle system though, The Last Remnant does look like a typical S-E RPG but it still looks good.

There are only three things IU has in common with SO:

1.They are made by the same developer

2.IU's battle system was based off SO3's battle system

3.They both use a form of private actions

Other than that, they are totally different from each other
