the USA are only really good for two things in football

1. Goalkeppers (Brad Friedel, Brad guzan, Tim Howard, Kasey Keller and a million others iI cant be bothered to list)
2. Landon donovan.... Man he's a sweet player,

Oh and I like Eddie Gaven in football manager games bu8t I have no idea how he is in real life.

Yeah, the last time that we all saw the best The Dutch had to offer was on June, 21th during Euro 2008 (RUS 3 - 1 NED).

Men's US football/soccer was always underrated by Europeans and the women's US team dominated football in the 90s, won the Olympic tournament in 2004 and is still among the 5 best teams in the world today (along with GER, BRA, NOR, CHN).

Wow 2 safeties in one game!?

I didn't even know the Olympics had real football

Joking aside, I didn't catch the game but I'm kind of curious why the pro NBA players can play but the pro-Soccer players can't? It seems like getting the best of the best in there would make sense /shrug

Because the far bigger football events took place already months ago (Africa Cup of Nations) and some weeks ago (Euro 2008). Furthermore all major European football leagues start their new season during the Olympic Games.

Football/soccer is the main sport in general worldwide, but it's a marginalized sport at the Olympic Games.

Because a lot of European National teams have a lot of players who play in the biggest competitions like The Netherlands. Some Clubteams didn't allow that those players would go to Olympics;

Obviously the team is good though if they win 2 under 21 championships in a row. Thats my point. It isn't just some crappy team that you have assembled. These kids are good. Yea they may not be the biggest names, but like I said earlier its probably the best under the guidelines that you have to follow for the team.
