I'm kinda worried about the $40 price tag, one would assume there might be less of a game or something like that.

This is an excellent strategy. Most Wii games are a lower price and the ones that are higher drop much faster... Microsoft is just taking a short-cut to encourage more sales and say that they are serious to casual gamers.

Price Cut + Lower Casual Game Prices = More Sales

I have no doubts Banjo will end up selling 2 million if it gets AAA reviews and a price point of 40 bucks. You can't get a better deal than that on day 1.
