We're advertising the game as $39.99 at my store (GameStop). It seems that's the actual price.
I've defended Banjo Kazooie through and through. But if it turns out to be a demo ala GT5:P I'll do everything I can to make the game burn.
I will become the anti-Banjo.

Why is the price an issue? It simply could be that they are attempting to get volume sales to the more "casual" crowd. $39.99 is a much better deal than $60 for new so I'll pick it up new instead of waiting to get a good deal on a used copy.
I hate trolls.

I heard Viva Pinata 2 may also go the $39.99 route.
Fantastic pricing. I wish all games could follow this price plan.

Yea i heard the same thing, which is good call for the holiday season.
Rare games haven't been selling well. For $59.99 most people will pass on them or wait for it to drop in price. By the time the game drops in price, they will either forget about the game or not care about it anymore. Why risk that chance? Selling these games at $39.99 will get more games out there from the getgo. Maybe even selling to the people that wouldn't normally buy them. Establishing a foothold with the consumers. If the games sell well they can bring out future games at higher prices.
