Doubt there will be any types of bundles unless it's older movies.

Sony pictures had a horrible summer lineup this year.  Hancock was the only "hit" they had.  The rest of the summer was dominated by Universal, Paramount, and Warner Bros.

Fall/Winter will be a big Blu ray buying time though, a lot of summer hits I'll be picking up.  This has been a pretty awesome year so far for movies.  Winter looks like a lot of good stuff releasing as well.  Sony will have a good title in Quantum of Solace but that probably won't be released on Blu ray until 09.  Casino Royale was the biggest BD seller up until 300 last year.

I think highly visual movies will play a part in the larger marketing of PS3 and Bluray, but I don't think it will be a major week on week difference.

I want LOTR Blu-Ray!

They will have impressive sales all round, especially the dark night. But I don't think they'll sell many BR players. The Dark Night will be amazing on BR, wish I could afford all the required equipment :(

Movies that are also available on a much more popular format do nothing for the less popular format.

My friend bought a bluray/hd dvd combo player for $400 a couple months ago so surely by now a standalone bluray player is cheaper than a PS3?

I really dont think they will have an effect on PS3 sales at all.  BUT, they will be the first Blu Ray movies I purchase (along with The Incredible Hulk) since buying my PS3. Still waiting for Blu Ray LOTR :(

on blu-ray sales... PS3 sales will stay the same though.

It won't cause a spike or anything, but it should contribute to some PS3 sales around Christmas time.
