Forums - Microsoft - I just bought and Xbox 360

Simple reason. I bought a 360 instead of a PS3 because the 360 had more games I was interested in. And no, I personally have no reason to get a PS3. But thats not because I don't want one. It's because I don't have the time to play all the games I get for the consoles I already have. No reason to add even more games I won't get to play. Besides that, I spend too much on the systems I have, as is.

My general plan from this point on, is to get a Nintendo every generation, and then swap off between Microsoft and Sony each generation. Hoping that they continue to have backward compatibility. That way I can get the previous gen games that I wanted to try, and then I'll eventually be able to play everything I wanted to, without having to buy every console, in every generation.

Of course, realistically, It won't always be Nintendo/Sony/Microsoft, but it's my working plan as of the moment.

the big guns for me are bc and bluray for the ps3

and right now the 360 offer almost all the ps3 can in terms of games, i mean no matter how you spin it the library's are almost twins

so i opted for the 360 until bc gets sorted out on the ps3 and the price is a little better

I almost sweared I would never buy a Microsoft console but I did. I really hate Microsoft as a corporation but I have to admit that with the Xbox, they are playing it well. They are buying most of the good rpgs from the Japanese companies.

What drove my purchase is 2 things: Tales of Vesperia and Final Fantasy XIII. I never really wanted a PS3 but now that most good RPGs are either exclusive to Xbox360 or multiplatform, I don't see the need of ever getting a PS3. It's a bit ironic because last generation I only had a PS2. Now, I have a Xbox and a Wii. I still prefer the Wiimote and will most likely get the multiplatform titles for the Wii but there's so much things I would miss by going with Wii alone.

I would like to know for all of you that purchased a 360 instead of PS3, why did you do so? Do you feel that a 360 owner has any reason to buy a PS3?

Hehe thats why where called xbox fanboys and not MS fanboys...

Congratulations on your purchase and welcome to the club!

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

I bought both but I must say my 360 gets a lot more playtime simply because of XBL. Not so much the service but the people i've been playing with since XBL launch plays a large part. Plus Halo made me a MS fan out of the gate console-wise.

Hey  tigawoods..... Tiger woods 09 is out in 3 weeks..... you getting it? what did you make of 08? whats ya fave woods game? 99,00,ect. 06,07,08?

I have to say I enjoyed '07 a bunch. I didn't get around to playing '08 but I'll at least rent '09. Theres too many games coming out in Q3-Q4 this year. Time to make my Co-workers pay for lunch :P

360 owners only get the first instalment of final fantasy so ur screwed there. PS3 has a greater line up of exclusives, like littbigplanet, resistance, drakes, heavenly sword etc etc. But I also bought a 360 at one point and now I hate the fact that I did...

As it stands, 360 owners are getting the main installment of this Final Fantasy XIII bonanza while PS3 owners are getting exactly ZERO Hironobu Sakaguchi games.

First the Braid thread, now this.  You sir, are on a roll today.

Godot is no longer waiting for a 360.

Okay that was bad...

We don't provide the 'easy to program for' console that they [developers] want, because 'easy to program for' means that anybody will be able to take advantage of pretty much what the hardware can do, so the question is what do you do for the rest of the nine and half years? It's a learning process. - SCEI president Kaz Hirai

It's a virus where you buy it and you play it with your friends and they're like, "Oh my God that's so cool, I'm gonna go buy it." So you stop playing it after two months, but they buy it and they stop playing it after two months but they've showed it to someone else who then go out and buy it and so on. Everyone I know bought one and nobody turns it on. - Epic Games president Mike Capps
