hmm..... Well, considering the following fact, I think we can make a very good guess:

matter-energy cannot be created or destroyed

If you can't create matter-energy, how is it that any matter-energy exists? and where did it come from if it is utterly impossible to create it by any means no matter how advanced your technology and knowledge are?

The two possible answers are:

1) It just is and was always there

2) Something beyond our comprehension made it

I personally think the latter makes more sense, especially considering that other facts such as the second law of thermodynamics (the entropy of the universe is always increasing) become far easier to explain; but you cannot definitively disprove the first option either.

Or possibly the second law of dynamics didn't always exist. Just because the laws of physics seem to be unbreakable presently doesn't mean they always existed, it's pretty much assumed that before the universe they didn't exist and even that for the first few moments of the big bang they didn't either.

call it whatever you want, but something that can create matter-energy might as well be god.... Like, there's NO possible way, even in the most remote and advanced scientific theory, that even gives a miniscule possibility of a way to create matter-energy. If you have the capability to do that, you will also have the capability to perform pretty much all of the actions associated with god. (ie. control weather, remove microbes from an object (ie. heal the sick), teleport, shape-shift, etc.)

You've got to be kidding.

Yeah, that's definitely possible, but imho, it's easier to believe in a "god" than the physical laws of the universe just randomly appearing out of nowhere. (note the "easier" thing to believe is not necessarily true, but most of the time, it seems it is)

nononono. I'm saying if you had the capability to create matter-energy, either with technology or by some other means, it is more than likely you would also have the capability to replicate the acts mentioned in such a way that your target (ie. humans) would not be able to figure out how the hell you are doing it.

LOL you can't observe God, there's no observable evidence, he must not exist!

Oh but we can observe the laws of thermodynamics through science and see they always hold true,

and although I have no evidence that they should fail to hold true

I will do so to deny the possibility of the existence of a God!

i luvvvvv it!!!!

Well I find it incredibally difficult to believe in the idea of an eternal and infinitely complex being. I just don't see such a situation occuring.

However with how we are finally being able to see the intricate complexity of quantum theory with its changes in dimensions and complete unpredictability - I can well see how the universe might have come from nothing. Given on your definition of nothing of course.

That still doesn't make any sense
