Forums - Gaming - Final Fantasy X is my favorite game of all time, would i like lost odyssey?

The FF series storyline borrows so much from Japanese cliche's including ones created by previous FF titles that it really places a damper on the overall enjoyment of its delivery. The writing (though perhaps due to translation) is subpar to a degree that I would guarantee that it would not even be considered as a mediocre book or movie if it were released in that format. The series needs much better translation and scripting and more original plot devices.

Final Fantasy X is the better game but LO is still great. Especially in Disk 3 where the pace really picks up

It does? I haven't played it for months because the second disk is soooo slow. The battles take ages lol.

Yes, though the cutscenes take much of the time on Disk 3 but the cutscenes have lots of action and lot of fighting in them

I second that, I actually stopped playing for a while in disc 2, but disc 3 is miles better

It's not like American cliches are any better. How is the writing subpar? I am not an expert on writing. FYI, FFXII had a great localization but it was just a disguise for a weaker than usual story. How do you distinquish bad writing and good writing?

lol LO is probably the only game that could make me pick up a xbox360.

but from what i seen its characters are nothing as interesting as ffx, especially rikku (L) how not to love that girl? its like the geek perfect girlfriend.

I don't know, does Lost Odyssy have a Bubble Gum 16 year old girl anime fan air to it like FFX did?

No. With the exception of Cooke and Mack, all of the playable characters in Lost Odyssey are adults

 Then I don't see how they're similar.

The gameplay mechanics and story structures are similar but other than that, FFX and LO are totally different from each other
