Forums - Nintendo - Could Rockstar really be working on GTA Wii? TT Building assets for Wii...

GTA give me motion sickness and when I don't get sick I get annoyed at the game and get sick anyway... But I wonder how it would sell on the Wii.

I'm Unamerica and you can too.

The Hunt Begins 4/20/2010 =D

GTA doesn't need Wii. A majority of Wii owners aren't interested in GTA, and those who are usually own also a PS3 and/or 360.

Godfather Wii was ridiculously enjoyable. The motion controls made me cackle like a madman as I pantomimed beating and choking people to death. Nothing like shaking the mote+chuk violently while strangling someone and shouting "Am I gonna hafta CHOKE A BITCH!?!"

And GTA4 was...iffy. The driving controls for 90% of the vehicles sucked ass, and the fact that the controls in Manhunt 2 were likewise god awful makes me more excited for Godfather 2 than GTA Wii.

"I mean, c'mon, Viva Pinata, a game with massive marketing, didn't sell worth a damn to the "sophisticated" 360 audience, despite near-universal praise--is that a sign that 360 owners are a bunch of casual ignoramuses that can't get their heads around a 'gardening' sim? Of course not. So let's please stop trying to micro-analyze one game out of hundreds and using it as the poster child for why good, non-1st party, games can't sell on Wii. (Everyone frequenting this site knows this is nonsense, and yet some of you just can't let it go because it's the only scab you have left to pick at after all your other "Wii will phail1!!1" straw men arguments have been put to the torch.)" - exindguy on Boom Blocks

Carnival Games 2?

I think you're reading too much into the statement. 2K has a breadth of games, and GTA is only one of them.

*sigh*

Why when someone hands you lemons, must you make lemonade? :/

They may wait to see how the DS one does first.

I already have GTA on Wii.

It's called Godfather, and EA's making a new one for '09 which looks like it might have some intriguing gameplay innovations.

They are? Link? It's not that I don't believe, you, but I like to have proof.

They just put up some details on gonintendo. It isn't confirmed for Wii yet, so I might be setting myself up for disappointment, but this is EA we're talking about. The Wii version might just come out a few months after the 360 one.

I don't remember physics playing a major role in GTA's gameplay before, but I do remember combat controls sucking severely on the PS2 games. Godfather's combat controls were amazing, and made melee and firearms very satisfying.

Was there anything that GTA IV's physics enabled you to do which couldn't be done on previous GTAs?

Well, I really liked the car physics in GTA4, and the overall feeling just being in the city, but yeah the controls are very clumsy.

But after having played GTAIV with those graphics and physics, at least I wouldn't want to go back to Wii grapchis.

If they make a Gta for Wii I would like them to change the gameplay a lot. The missions are too repetive, no physics/graphics or even good controls will change that IMO.

@ bdbdbd

No i am not a fan of the series since the 2d version which was at least mediocre, but i had a laugh or two.

Wii is a console truly unique. The interface is great and the wii remote after playing Metroid Prime 3 Corruption and PES 2008 i saw truly revolutional control schemes for Football and First Person shooter. Then i played great games like Trauma Center,Okami,Zack & Wiki and i really enjoy them all.

I saw games like ScarFace and Godfather for the wii played them and felt like the controls were tacked on, they were not thinking making a game for the unique contoller but they put waggle and an IR crosshair and here we go a port of a ps2 title to the wii. They don't even trying to take advantage of the wii's hardware.

Take-2 is a publisher they don't care to make a good game they want to sale a good franchise name. Thats why i don;t like the idea of a wii GTA.

Lets see the DS version and then lets see about the effort done for this game. If it is good then maybe i will change my mind about if i want a GTA on the wii.

Are you telling me millions of dollars they made will go into the funds of game that costs like nothing to make?

No they go to PS360 games. =I

Are you telling me that there's not plenty of other games that 2K has or *gasp* an originial game they could make?

There's no reason to comment on GTA on the Wii, if there's no game in development.

Again, this is grasping for straws.

It wouldn't make much sense from a business perspectives as Wii owners don't care for non lifestyle and party games.
