Sorry, it's Carnival Games 2 :P
My guess would be something along the lines of GTAIII: San Andreas Stories

Wow, what a brilliantly written argument
.
That makes no sense at all. Does that mean that any game we haven't heard anything about can't be coming to the Wii ever? I guess after all the announced games are released, there will NEVER be anything else released for the system, it hasn't been announced yet, so it can't possibly ever exist.
Or maybe it's possible that they're toying with the idea, doing market research, developing in-house demos, etc, and don't have a final game concept in place. Maybe because they are still working on getting the technology & engine worked out, they don't have enough info to officially annouce it. You can't deny any possibility just because it hasn't been announced. It would make perfect sense for them to bring a GTA game to the system with the largest userbase.
| Leetgeek said: Question: Why wasn't GTA on N64 or Gamecube? |
There are lots of reasons for this ...
DMA Design Limited (which later became Rockstar North) was one of the developers Nintendo wanted to make part of their "Dream Team" and they moved into a second party relationship (exactly like Rare did) on the N64; Nintendo and DMA simply did not see eye to eye on anything they did, the relationship soon became strained and Nintendo released DMA from their contract.
One of my teaching assistants was from Scotland and came to Canada after receiving her Masters degree and she worked for DMA while in school. Her assessment was that Nintendo's constant push towards high quality polished gameplay above all else made Rockstar the developer it is today; she also said the relationship mainly fell apart (in her opinion) because Nintendo was taking the same aproach they took with Rare which was to try to (in ways) turn them into a copy of Nintendo while everyone within DMA at the time wanted to move in a different direction.
Edit: When a relationship like this breaks-up because of unreconcileable differences people on both sides are going to have very bad feelings about it (just like in a divorce). It can take a long time for both parties to gain perspective, or a change in management, and one company would have to reach out and try to mend the hurt feelings.

You are correct that is why it's comming to DS.

Is GTAIV that much better than the older games? Highly unlikely. From what I've heard, most fans prefer SA or VC over GTA IV. Or are you, perhaps, a graphics whore?
I couldn't care less about this shit of a series, but they should bring it to the Wii for massive sales. If there's going to be a decent one, I predict 10 million copies lifetime at the very least. GTAWii has the potention to grow out to be the biggest third party title on the Wii.
@perpride: The moment GTA comes out on Wii, it's userbase is bigger than PS3:s and 360:s combined. Not to mention the moment when GTA4 came out on PS360. So if Wii has more than 50% marketshare, there will be potential customers, even if every PS3 and 360 owner would have a Wii and they wouldn't buy GTA for Wii because they have it on PS3 or 360.
@Leetgeek: "We would have heard something" is pretty bad excuse. I made a pretty good reason in my previous post about why would they want to keep it quiet. Oh, and let's add another point: the buyout threat from EA is over only "for now" and in order to keep buyout away, they need to plan their releases/finances. When EA bids the next time, they can announce GTA for Wii and the stock goes up again.
Ei Kiinasti.
Eikä Japanisti.
Vaan pannaan jalalla koreasti.
Nintendo games sell only on Nintendo system.

Ahh yes the days when Nintendo was domineering. Being a bully int he industry doesn't make you friends. Especially when your not top dog.
Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.
If the DS GTA sells well then there might be a GTA for the Wii.
