according the the demos this is what they call 4d?

No, inorder to see 4d you actually need to have special 4d glasses on.

You can buy them here

Count me unimpressed. It really doesn't look much better than a few other recent games. Especially with the uncanny valley look (trying really hard to go for realism, and ultimately falling flat...compared to something like Crysis, which keeps it in the videogame realm while still looking very good and detailed), and the fact that these faces are all the game has going for it apparently...

i'm more impressed considering this can be run on a console than HD PC.

as for console its the BEST we have seen so far.

Perhaps technically, yes.

I guess I'm just not impressed by the style...it's just my opinion that the first video with the audition was nothing impressive, her mouth moved in so many unnatural, weird ways, and these latest pics just seem a little creepy and doesn't really hype me in any way.

I just have a feeling weird animation will be the death of this.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

Really nice shots. Fairly realistic character models.

BenKenobi88, I wouldn't worry about weird animation. Quantic Dream are using the best motion capture available. In theory, the animation should exceed even the likes of Heavenly Sword and Uncharted. In particular, they've been working very hard of facial animation.

Don't go by the audition video. As has been pointed out, that was only a quickly made tech demo that was thrown together 2 years ago by QD to test out the hardware they were working with. It was never actually meant to be seen by the public.

the original one was french, and the english was fit into it, we won't know that til we see the game fully trailer.

that was a tech demo.

That's incredible.

I don't see anything that indicates these are in-game. Regardless, the pictures are pretty impressive. Let's see if they release additional information at GDC. This appears to be the game that Darren Waters from the BBC was discussing in Feb.

no its not. That title is unannounced he would be allowed to mention it if it were heavy rain. Besides he wrote in his blog that its not heavy rain.

Want to bet a month signature on it?  I suspect the game will be announced at GDC and confirmed shortly there after by Darren Waters.  I know he has denied it, but his description sounds like Heavy Rain.  I doubt that Sony has another title of this quality that is secret.

I wouldn't make that bet if I were you.  Insiders on neogaf (Busty, and possibly Sin) confirmed that there was no trailer of Heavy Rain being circulated internally at Sony at the time his article was written, and Darren Waters himself later explicitly stated that the game was not Heavy Rain in the comments section of one of his blogs (comment #16):

@ALL The game was NOT Heavy Rain. I promise you it is not that title.

I still think this "game" is more of a glorified tech demo. Does anyone know how it plays?

Well, N'Gai played and talked about it for a little bit. He said that Indigo Prophecy will be immensely pleased.

(Short: He loved it and wanted to see more of it)

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

I thought this game is a story based adventure with a focus on improving real time animation in human faces, manerisms, etc. Why/how are people evaluating it based on stills?

And who cares about the quality of skin texures or nose hairs verses Crysis or whatever?

If crysis characters move like retarded robots with precanned reactions and these slightly lower resolution characters move realistically in real time, then this will look better to the human eye (which is way more sensitive to movement than anything else by the way).
