Hrmm... well they still have some time to iron out some of that stuff.. but man I'm surely hoping for better :x The Wii deserves it >

To put these into perspective, here is a RE4 screenshot (which if I'm not wrong is a direct Gamecube port in terms of graphics):

@NJ5, it's not even JUST the textures (I mean yes, those are bad), but what's up with the color? It all looks like that muddy crap most PS2 games had >< Something's just not right with these shots.

Indeed.... The mall kinda looks like the one in GTA:Vice City (actually it looks a lot lot better than it in 3D modelling, but I mean in terms of the poor colour)

I agree with chronotrigger, and NJ5 . The textures and shaders are pretty bad. It doesn't even look like capcom is using the TeV(probably aren't), and I've seen better textures in early PS2 games, maybe even dreamcast games. Oh and the lighting is horrible aswell. They better get to work if they are planning on releasing it this holiday.

Colors are very similar to what was on the 360. The colors don't have any difference, but the fidelity of all of the objects is much lower obviously. They need better shading and better textures in my opinion. Once that is done I think this will look passable.

Just kiss the tip.

The polygonal and texture detail on the Zombies seems lower in Dead Rising but I suspect that has to do with them targeting 100 Zombies on screen compared to the 10 (or so) you see on screen in Resident Evil 4. When it comes to the environments it looks like Dead Rising has crisper cleaner (less muddy) textures, may be a little more populated with objects, and the environments are far larger and (I assume) more seemless.

Ultimately, I would say that Dead Rising is (probably) a much more demanding game to run on the Wii, but the character models (and grey-brown color palate) of Resident Evil 4 make it look more "Realistic" ...

@HappySqurriel: There are some OK textures there, but there are also large patches of untextured and barely shaded walls and objects.

We should also take into consideration that RE4's graphics are Gamecube level. They must be able to pull off significantly better graphics than that in Dead Rising, even with tons of zombies.

Here's a 360 image for reference

The 360 version doesn't have great graphics either, but at least they're using the shaders for the environments.

I understand trading graphics for number of characters, but I refuse to believe that's the best they can do.

How long have they been working on this game? It was my understanding that they're still pretty early on.
