Forums - Sales - Prediction: The Xbox360 will outsell the PS3 this month as well.

All this is similar to a German operation in December 1944. They held off the Allies for about a month, and then they collapsed. For the week ending August 31st, everything will be back to normal. And even if MS cuts the pro price to $299, Sony will have the room to cut PS3 price to $349.

Sony has said repeatedly that they are focusing on profitability. With declining PS2 sales, I highly doubt they'll cut PS3 prices if they are still losing money on it.

Launching a new version of their PS3 AND a price cut immediately after that?  Sounds a bit much.

Yeah I think it will to. This is THE month my Sig comes into play. So I hope my calculations were right.;) Also here in UK Tales Of Vesperia is landing in August. The boxes are on shelves here now.

None of the exclusive titles will move hardware significanty  , if at all.

Sony is also releasing the Ferrari F1 racing game this month which is exclusive.

I don't know about August sales though... The rumour of a coming price drop for 360's in September may reduce demand until then...

I expect it to be close again. And with how close July has been, the NPD adjustments might put Sony back in the lead for worldwide sales so 360 fanboys shouldn't get too excited yet.

Ahh your prediction will be far harder than mine and I've got a good start already. If your prediction comes true the lead between the Xbox360 and PS3 will extend by at least 750,000 consoles. Its not absolutely far fetched but we will have to see how well the market reacts to the Netflix announcement/price cut and the recent RPG push.

I see you really need a good start to your prediction? But yea September should be a good month for you and you signature.

@ Tales of Vesperia, I hope so! I wanna get that game for my 360, but I live in PAL NZ so I dunno.

Tease.

The germans ran out of fuel, and supplies. So you think the Xbox360 will run out of games and consoles on August 31?

Because you know it heats up in September, this is just the quiet really before the next storm if you consider the massive pricecut that comes into effect on the 7th.

BTW im already pretty confident the Xbox360 will take Q3, so all thats left is the big one - Q4.

as iam still a 360 fan i should say ... yah great go 360 lol.

If the 360 price cut happens in sept then I can see it been close in sales between the 2(NA being the biggest gap between the 2 in favour of the 360 with eu making up the numbers for the ps3) but I will give the nod to the 360. By the end of the year I think that the gap between the 2 will be in and around what it is right now with not much changing in how much diff theres between the 2.

seems like a reasonable prediction dude unless Microsoft goes ahead and makes their price drop official. In that case I could see a drop in sales while more people hold out for it.
