Forums - Microsoft - Halo Movie Resurrected?

http://news.teamxbox.com/xbox/17247/Halo-Movie-Resurrected/

"Latino Review reports that the project involving Peter Jackson, Neil Blomkamp, and the script by Garland is "completely dead." However, there's still hope we'll get to see Halo on the silver screen. The publication got access to a new script Stuart Beattie put together to show to the folks at Microsoft and Bungie. The Australian screenwriter is famous for writing Pirates of the Caribbean, Collateral and the upcoming G.I. Joe and Gears of War big screen adaptations.

Stuart Beattie’s script is very real and out there floating around in Hollywood folks. How real? Well, there has been concept art made by conceptual artist Kasra Farahani (WOLF MAN, HANCOCK, SPIDERMAN 3) for certain scenes of the new HALO: FALL OF REACH script as part of an eventual presentation to Microsoft. From what I’m told, the presentation is very cool!"

EDIT: This Beattie guy doesn't have a very good track record(except for Collateral).  They should just leave this project dead.

While I think it would be awesome to see what a large production studio could make of Halo, with a large budget, I just can't think of any that I would trust to not completely screw it up.

I don't know, I've heard Uwe Boll is pretty good with game movies.

Okami

To lavish praise upon this title, the assumption of a common plateau between player and game must be made.  I won't open my unworthy mouth.

Until the money issues are worked out, it doesn't matter. And since Microsoft doesn't have enough faith in the project to kick in, they won't get worked out.

Taking it out Jackson's hands would be a start. Merely mentioning his name in the same breath as a movie is enough to make its budget climb by 10 million.

I liked Pirates movies....some people just aren't entertained easily.

I think Peter Jackson would do a great job. On topic though I don't think this movie will ever come out.

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.
