"Australia's Office of Film and Literature has stealthily confirmed a new R-Type game coming to the Xbox 360. Dubbed R-Type Dimensions, it's in development under Lode Runner team Tozai. No other information about the game is forthcoming, but I'm sure all the thumbs of all the shmup fans out there have twiched at this news"

It was supposed to be at the time. The developer probably thought better of it though, as R-Type can now have new life over downloadable services like Xbox Live, PSN and WiiWare and make more money that way too.
