Forums - Sony - NEW PS3 Model.

i doubt that it will sell much, all it is, is a bigger hard disk drive, nothing more than that.

I'm seriously considering getting one as my hard drive fills....

In others it's August 27th, in US September.

@colonelstubbs: I think you can simply add a new HDD to your PS3.

If you have an external hard drive, you can make a partition on it and format that partitoin to FAT32 to either have more space for videos/music/pictures or to make a back up of everything while you buy another hard drive.

The PS3 can accept practically any laptop HDD, though I don't know how the whole 5400rpm vs 7200rpm comparion goes.

You can get a 250GB drive from frys (or newegg or whatever else) for about 80 bucks. Toss that in the PS3, it takes minutes, and boom, all the space you'll ever need.

I don't mind that the PS3 is bigger then other HD consoles because it makes it 100 times less likely to burn out.

why would it sell more, does it not omit all backwards compatability

come play minecraft @  mcg.hansrotech.com

minecraft name: hansrotec

XBL name: Goddog

Well what they should have done in my opinion was keep the 40gbs around and drop the rice of them to $299 and then sell the 80gb for $399. Then we would have seen some huge numbers.

That would be the best option, but they can't afford any extra losses on the hardware.

Think it will do pretty well in europe.
