Bodhesatva - yes, I'm implying that after launch (around late Dec. and really starting in January), that most buying the Wii's have been less "Nintendocore" gamers than normal. Thats why the top-selling Wii games aren't what one would consider normal.
I'm not saying the Wii doesn't have it's hardcore games, as I stated, you certainly have great Nintendocore fare such as Zelda:TP, SPM, and such. But again, the tier ratios aren't showing a basis like the GC was, or most other typical bases. This base is similar to the Japanese DS base that buys alot of more casual quick/fun titles as opposed to the serious games.
Thats not to say SPM didn't sell well, because it'll end up with nearly 2m units sold worldwide, which is good. However, for a serious Mario title, I'd think that was kinda low on a system that'll trump pretty much any Nintendo system since SNES.
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
