No since I am not contribuing to the topic.

They still have Mario and Zelda left, but besides from that I don't see anything coming up. Third party support better kick in soon, or they might slow down.

EDIT: I think that The Conduit will show whether third party hardcore games have any chance on the Wii. Personally I think that for the game to sell a Wii HD SKU will have to be released.

"Miyamoto needs to think up more ideas for the Wii"

Nintendo Co., President Satoru Iwata has said that Wii Music completes what Miyamoto wrote in his proposal when he came up with the idea for the Wii. According to Iwata, Miyamoto has said he now needs to think up more original ideas. Iwata has also said that Nintendo don't really have any more accessories in the pipeline for Wii. "Most of the ideas for accessories that we had initially come up with are out now. We might think up some more, and we might make them if we do,>>>>>>>> but we don't have any plans to release a whole lot more."<<<<<<<< he said.

"Nintendo: of course we're working on our next-generation console"

Nintendo Co., President Satoru Iwata was recently asked to comment on speculation about Nintendo's plans after the Wii. "The hardware team started work on the next thing as soon as they were done with their previous project, but what they think up doesn't necessarily become a product. We only turn something into a product after it's been thoroughly vetted inside the company. We're not at a point where we can give specifics, but of course we're working on it." Iwata replied.

The article describing the information contained in the source was done by Maxconsole , I've been arguing that Nintendo will have no choice but to loose momentum , in the first 2 years of the Wii's existance many of it's biggest IP's have been thrown at us I was shocked to find Super Mario Kart and Smash Bros Brawl come out in the same year , I heard some where on these forums that Nintendo were going for a 10 year stratergy with the Wii but  I seriously dought the Wii could last another 3 years without serious 3rd party support , what's your take on this ?

Oh and for alll those of you who will probably bring some sales statistics in an atempt to disprove me, re-read the post because this has little to do with the Wii's current sales performance but everything to do with Nintendo supporting the platform and keeping it strong.

OMG... read the article. Your thread states that the Wii is losing steam, when in reality, the only thing that it says is the original proposal that Miyamoto had created has been used up. Does anyone really think he has NO more ideas? Please, if anyone reads my post, read the actual article on any of the other sites and make your own conclusions, don't just read this drivle and take it for fact.

Comparing the games that have been on the Wii to the games that were on the PS2 by the end of its first year alone shows that the Wii just can't compare.

PS2 games worth having by the end of 2001: Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Devil May Cry, Final Fantasy X, Grand Theft Auto III, Jak and Daxter the Precursor Legacy, ICO, SoulReaver 2, Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil.

The Wii's best games almost 2 years into its lifespan and following a disastrous E3: Super Mario Galaxy, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Super Smash Brothers Brawl, Metroid Prime 3, Super Mario Kart (if you didn't buy the Gamecube Version), and a really bad version of Animal Crossing on the way.

Now some might say the Wii has awesome games but reviews at sites like IGN just don't bear that out. Most of these things like Wii Fit and Wii Sports (And Mario Kart Wii) have only received review scores in the 8 to 9 range.

You do realize that most of those games were released (well) over 12 months after its initial release in Japan, and every developer in the world expected the PS2 to be the dominant console. If you have developers start developing games a year before a console launches, and have these games released a year after the console launches then these games will obviously be better than the games that began development months after a system launched and released within the first year worldwide.

@groucho, your entire logic is full of fallacy and it makes me question your entire story.

Sure, the bc on the Wii is a great feature and it did make me sell my gc early since I knew I could finish the gc games I wanted on the Wii, but to say that the bc is the only reason it has done well so far is just absurd.

Since when is my own opinion a "fallacy"? No where in my post did I state that my opinion was that of the majority. I merely posted it as an issue to consider.  Also, perhaps you'd like to quote the part where I claimed the Wii's success was due to BC, rather than BC being the primary reason I purchased my own Wii, and that I knew many that had done the same.

I will suggest this, however.  Sales of used GC games seem to have skyrocketed with the success of the Wii.  Due to the Wii's numbers you might think "of course they have", but I would go as far to say that, as a gamer, the Wii's lineup has not yet come even remotely close to the value of the GC's lineup, and I believe that the Wii has no appealing gamer-oriented lineup on the horizon.  At the same time, I don't believe that the majority of Wii purchasers are necessarily Nintendo fans of the past, as I am -- so perhaps the lack of interesting "hardcore" titles doesn't matter to most.

You can discount my opinion as you like. There are certainly reasons to do so. But claiming my opinion is "fallacy" is... out of line.

I have bolded the part that I disagree with. I think that the Wiis lineup up until now has been absolutely amazing. Sure, there is a lot of shovelware, but that is what makes the lineup look inferior. At this time in the GC life, there really wasn't all of the crap coming out on to it. The crap generally went on to the PS2. The only games that came to the GC were generally really good Nintendo made games with no filler from 3rd parties.

Almost all of the games that the major sites showed in their post E3 2008 most anticipated games for the remainder of 2008 are 360 and PS3 titles. The only Wii games that appear on a few of the lists are Animal Crossing; however, one can only hope that what Nintendo showed at E3 wasn't really the best parts of the game as it didn't even seem to match up to the Gamecube version; The Blob, and Little King Story. With the wealth of AAA titles coming to the PS3 and 360 this holiday season plus games like Metal Gear Solid 4 and GTA IV that many people are still going to have on their holiday wish lists, it can be expected that during the 2008 holiday season, Wii sales levels will fall to Gamecube levels.

And it is already starting.  Looking at this week's sales chart for America, I notice that at $299 with NCAA Football '09, the 360 comes within less than 3,000 units of topping.  At $199.99 with Fallout 3, Gears of War 2, Left 4 Dead, Dead Space, Banjo Kazooie, Viva Pinata 2, Too Human, and Tales of Vesperia, the 360 dominates.
