thats ok specs for a laptop, i wouldnt reccomend putting too many games on it though, youd need more RAM and graphics first

O-D-C the easiest and cheapest thing you can do for now is upgrade your RAM to 2Gig, even if you only use this laptop for office, net/emails, and movies you will notice a pretty big difference
As for improving game performance, at low cost upping the RAM to 2Gig will help, but the rest of the hardware on the machine is too low end and expensive to upgrade
for every step up on the CPU go two steps with the GPU.
build a desktop now with this knowledge!
Haha, vista.... thats the first thing you have to get rid of.
Anyways, you can upgrade laptops video card. However it won't be as portable anymore, if you use external video card.

Still I would advice you to go for desktop. You can get incredible rig for ridiculous low prices today.
my laptop is great for gaming
2.0 ghz core2duo
2 gigs of ddr2 RAM
7900goGS
17inch widescreen at 1920x1200
everything runs like a charm!

hahaha YOU'RE SOOOOO CLEVERRRRRRRRRRRRRR
I'm running vista by the way too, and it works fine. I had XP installed to and compared benchmarks, didn't get any difference at all.

Why not just get an Xbox360 Arcade for $200? It plays many of the same games, just popping that thought out there.
Tease.

I asked him directly and he has too many consoles with his TV already, all Nintendo! xD
But hey, you have to agree it was an avenue that had to be explored. :)
