Forums - Nintendo - Dead Rising (Wii) New Character Images

Shadow's and characters look amazing, but the environment is meh, still, one of the best looking 3rd party Wii games yet.

I own all of lastgen systems as of October 2008. (Finally got a Dreamcast)

I own every currentgen system except PS3.

Well, you could've said it before :P

Considering the Gamecube could render (roughly) 500,000 polygons per frame with full lighting, textures and effects at peak performance (and the Wii should be able to render more polygons, with more texture data and better effects) it shouldn't be that unbelievable that the Wii can render images like this during an in-engine cut-scene ...

A lot of people loved it. I ended up kinda hating it in the end because it is a really fun concept, and it is impressive how many zombies they can cram into a single aera, but so many bad design choices just really bogged down the whole thing. Like the annoying save system, and the constant ticking clock. I understand they were trying to create tension and a sense of survival horror, but so much was terribly unbalanced and it usually made things furstrating and annoying instead of tense.

The survivor AI is dumb as a bag of hammers, the controls were akward, you keep getting annoying calls from the janitor and when you took them you're completely helpless, story takes itself far too seriously, items often break way to quickly, you can't collect or stack ammo for guns, just get more guns, and waste more item slots. You have to level up a great deal before you become effective and really stand a chance. Combat with anything other than zombies always seemed really akward.

Despite all that it is still fun to just run around the mall and screw around with the zombies. Just a shame the almost everything else didn't hold up to well. It sounds like the Wii version might fix some of that. They're giving you multiple save slots, taking away the damn countdown. Of course they're also axing the camera, which is annoying, but most people probably wouldn't miss it. (I will =P)
