Forums - Sales - Anyone else noticing a lot of Wiis easily available in stores?

I wouldn't say a lot of Wii's but I had never seen one in store until June. Since the beginning of the month I have seen them at Walmart and Circuitcity on occasion. There were 3 at Walmart at 11:30pm that the clerk said had been there all day. She said they had been announcing throughout the day that they were available, expecting to be mobbed but nobody came. I bought one to try it out knowing they still sell for more than retail on ebay even if used. So I wasnt going to be out anything if I didn't like it. Not my cup of tea(at least not yet) so I sold it and made $50. I regret not buying all 3.

I know this isn't exactly proof that supply is catching up to demand but I don't think it is insignifigant either.

took me 3 weeks to find a wii to buy one finally after calling day after day after day to the local gamestop they got their shipment in and i bought the second to last one left and this is a fairly small town. but if i was just lookin for them i only saw actualy sittin gon a shelf 7 at a walmart in indy but htat was a shipment day. and no one knew they ewere there yet. so i think the demand is still too high to get the supply in there.

And I've seen a whooooole bunch of PS3's ... since the release. Kidding!

Still sold out in the Netherlands, each shipment that comes in are sold out immediately, according to game store owners.

Yeah... I bet YOU saw a lot of wii's!... Cause YOU like PS3' more!... Stupid fanboy!... I bet you saw Wii's.... In your dreamworld! ... All of you boys! Don't take drugs! Cause then you're gonna halucinate!... And as you can see from his posts... That ain't a good thing!

Hey Leo-j... I bet that in the place u live u also HAVEN'T seen ANY PS3' in store?! Right?!... Cause they've been selling really good lately! And they all sold out or something?!... That would be funny!... Hehe!!!

BTW: IFF supply were to meet demand (Which it obviously isn't at the moment) Then Wii would be leveling out at around 70-80k a week (280-320k) a month... So it would kick PS3' ass 4:1 still... In America!

Watch it mate - consider this a warning. That's VERY close to ban-able words issued by you :P

Well, not a big problem to get one here (German, Nothern Bavaria). Two days ago, i was shopping for clothing. Theres a Little game shop, i went in to look if theres some intressting games. Had a Little chat. The Owner said, they get 8 Every week, and need 3 days to sell out, so, you can get them.

I Bought mine on Amazon (de). No Problem to get one there. A lot of other shops don't to have a problem with avaible as well. But some still charge more then the UVP ("Unverbindliche Preis Empfehlung" -> non-binding price recommendation). Normaly they are about %10 under, so it seems there is still a big demand not totaly satisfied.

As I've said before in my Toys R Us thread:

I still get 4-5 calls a day asking for Wiis, if not more. Which means that not only is my store still sold out, and not only are the other Toys R Us stores sold out (which I can confirm), but as evidenced by people calling every store imaginable ("Man, I can't find one of those things! Where can I get one? Think you could find me one?" And so forth), everyone else in my area is still sold out too.

If there was going to be a time for demand to slack in the slightest, now would be that time, and in my neck of the woods -- as in, all the stores in my immediate vicinity that I can check, including every Toys R Us in Missouri -- it's not happening.

In the UK i have never seen a 'Wii in stock' poster without an 'out of stock' sticker across it.

To think a Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime or a Super Smash Brawls HAVEN'T been released yet :-/ Probably 3 of the most aticipated games this year. Well... depends on if SSB will be released this year then.

This is possibly the only quote which I seriously dont believe on this topic.

On subject, I have seen plenty of Wiis instore, I dont actually think they were ever supply constrained in NZ. But we are such a small market that we dont really represent even a tiny amount of the market.

(Just out of interest though anybody have any form of NZ stats?)
