Try not to start your argument that way. It's just a way of justifying a biased comment.

Sir, you are simply incorrect. It is not a way for me to justify a biased comment. It is a way for me to signify that I have used both services, and that I subsequently prefer Xbox Live to PSN.

You prove you have used both services by indirectly saying it in your posts while being objective. You don't just tell people. If you make statements as highly debatable as the one you just made then at least support it with an answer to why. That's my major gripe the "I have both" argument. People then don't support an answer as to why because they think their opinion solidifies when they only seem objective.

All he said was that he had used both services and felt that $50 per year was an acceptable cost for using what he felt was the superior service.  He didn't say that it was a fact that Live was better than PSN.  He said it was just his opinion: "what I deem is a superior service."

So the only way to prove that I have used both services is by indirectly saying I have whilst also being disinterested? That sounds stupid and I am not sure what the hell it even means. Also, "I have both" is not an argument, but a qualifying statement. Not that you make much sense, but I will support why I believe Xbox Live is superior and worth the money I pay for it. I get a comprehensive, integrated online experience. I get a myriad of ways to communicate with my friends and the friends of my friends. I also get to play fun games (sometimes) developed by small, independent studios that I would not get to experience someplace else. My friends and I have spent many hours playing games like Carcassonne (which I got for free) and Undertow (which I also got for free). I cannot say those things about PSN, and that is why I gladly pay $50 for what I deem is a superior service.

i dont mind paying the 40$ a year theres a ton of free downlaods and a ton of free arcade games so i really dont mind paying just for that reason but the other one is that it runs fairly smooth and all of my friends have it i only two have ps3 and i think one actually uses psn

Well duh! All of you are still willing to pay so why not. :P

Didn't bother reading everyone's response, but this is the single biggest reason why I refuse to buy an XBox360.

Take away my gamerscore, take away my demos, take away XBLA, take away video marketplace, and just give me online gaming for free.

And it's not that I can't afford it. I just don't see the value in it. Especially if they are going to make me buy a wireless adapter instead of just building it into the console. Like all the other consoles. And handhelds. And just about every other electronic device made in the past 5 years.  I say this as a formerly PC heavy gamer.  Where user created content (maps/mods), online gaming, online messaging (texting/voice), official demos, were all provided for free.

Yup, as long as you're willing to pay, you'll pay.

XBL might be the best service currently (not my opinion), but that shouldn't mean you should pay for it. It should factor into the cost of the console when you buy it...of course there's people working 24/7 for Live...just as there are people working for PSN and Nintendo...? (they probably sleep at night on piles of money hehe).

PC gaming is totally free and is way more expansive than console services...and we don't pay to play. If Games for Windows launched free, it might have done better...though probably not because it's sloppy, only really features a few games, and is pretty much pointless.

$40 a year isn't that much, so you probably don't care to throw it down...it'd be stupid to boycott and miss out on the XBL features, after all...but if everyone did stop using XBL and gave Microsoft a ton of negative press...they'd pretty much have to cut the price.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

I have both a PS3 and a 360 and I will never pay for online gaming...ever. They are practically the same thing now anyway.

PC gaming is definitely not free.  Blizzard makes you buy a WOW package and then adds injury to insult by charging a $15/month fee.  I've visited plenty of "free" online sites, but you have to consider that the publisher subsidizes the use of the online service by charging for the game.

There's better Mmos out there with no subscription fees.

Um, you realize that WOW is an MMO.  And that on TOP of XBox Live Gold fees, you have to also pay monthly fees to play FFXI (another MMO) on the XBox360.
