Forums - Microsoft - 360 Selling Like Hot cakes In Europe ClaimsX Box Exec

Heres part of an interview given by  John Schappert who is the corporate vice president who runs pieces of Microsoft’s game business.

VB: With the recent price moves, there is less of a price spread between your mainstay unit and Sony’s mainstay unit.
JS:
In Europe, we have lower prices and it has flown off the shelves like hot cakes. Remember that 75 percent of the units sold at $199 or less in the last generation.

Heres the whole interview where he covers live avators among many other things.

Numbers don't say so.

Lol they might have been flying of the shelves like hotcakes but they sure as hell weren't being sold.

Apparently Europeans aren't big on hotcakes either.

I,m European and quite like hotcakes actually.

Cakes don't sell well in Europe?

Always the best source of information to go to.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

i hpe they like a deal buy 2 games and get an Xbox 360 at 199$....hotcakes

I was looking for a X360 two days ago ...I couldnt decide if buying a second hand machine for 129 euros or a brand new machine.THe brand new machine was 217 euros and had packed Forza Motorstorm 2 ,Viva Piñata and Ninja Gaiden II.It was an arcade unit.

I decided to buy that ,it was dirty cheap after all and I wont subscribe to Live so dont need the HD.

Then I spoke to the guy in the store (the chain is GAME ,and these guys have a promotion issue with MS in Spain ,so they are usually mad to sell you the console as they receive incentives) and he told me not to buy the arcade as there was a huge number of consoles faulty ...he told me to buy the Elite that had a way more reliable score.

After that ,and considering the Elite was 370 and hadnt Ninja Gaiden II but a stupid FPS in the pack ,I decided to left the store without buying the console.

Selling your game console with 3 games for free does seem a bit desperate doesnt it?

if so then the ps3 psp wii ds are selling like donuts in a police convention.
