EXTREMELY old news. They've been hiring for a next gen MMO for MONTHS now. Could be a new IP, or something old. Starcraft Lost Vikings, who knows.

I woudn't be too excited about it either, whatever it is it is probably years from any release date or even beta state...
Blizzard guy said. Blizzard is, to my understanding, autonomous with their development still, so I doubt it's an Activision franchise.
Well it was the Blizzard CEO who was participating in the conference call FWIW.
As someone who avidly follows WoW, I can say without a shadow of a doubt that I've known about this project for over a year. They've been listing job apps on their website for "Next Generation MMO" for a long time now. Unless they magically knew about the Activision deal back then, it's not Activision stuff. Even if Blizzard ever agreed to do it (which they would not), it's not chronologically possible. Just wanted to squash that rumor right away. It's likely a new IP, based on previous statements. The end.

for people active in mmo community its old news that blizzard is working on a new mmo. It might be WoW2, a starcraft based mmo or a new ip no idea about that. Before they officially released infos about diablo 3 some people were believing that it might be diablo based.
Anyway with blizards speed at finishing games i don't expect it to release before late 2010 or 2011.
btw: the kotor based mmo is allready announced by bioware.
