Retro Zelda with SNES (hell, even NES) graphix would be sa weeet.

No that wouldnt. That would be horrible unless its one Wiiware and not main series.

Honestly, the most important thing, to me, is that the game is good.  It doesn't have to be more of the same with slightly better graphics to make me happy.

I know, I've been going off on "gamers" a lot recently but this is exactly what i've been talking about.

"No, please god don't do anything new. It will ruin gaming."

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

The worst thing already happened. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CD-i_games_from_The_Legend_of_Zelda_series

Zelda saving Link, or The Legend of Zelda: Tingle Chronicles.

Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. "  thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

Well if it was on another console...
Also I liked WW graphics I say imo it is ths best looking game I have ever played.

The worst thing that can happen to Zelda has already happened. The series has become utterly stale. The quality is still there, but the world has become terribly shallow compared to other games. The worst thing that can happen is if the format is still honored.

Zelda needs to start incorporating aspects of other games to gain some serious depth. There needs to be an actual story rather then a convenient excuse. There needs to be some role playing mechanics added. The world needs to become more interactive. Combat needs a drastic overhaul.

Basically Zelda has become so formulaic it is not even a laughing matter. Enter the hero no back story just that he is chosen. His first order of business seems to be to visit a dungeon the goal to find a treasure that gives him a new power. Then he uses the new power to kill the boss to get a redundant item he needs to collect. Then he repeats the process twenty more times till he fights Gannon. Along the way you will find tired puzzles you were solving ten years ago, and will scour the landscape for heart pieces, and other such stupidity.

What Zelda needs is to borrow some of the better aspects from Mass Effect, Oblivion, Fable, and even Assassins Creed. Incorporate an overall story with events, and some moral dilemma. Let Link have some customization, and just open up Hyrule in general. Let link effect the world he inhabits give him some other real goals. Finally flesh out a decent combat system let players change up how they are killing the monster. Let them try spells, and let link navigate the environment more freely. In other words let link jump, run, and climb.

Anyway I already have four Zelda games that follow the exact same formula. There just is no reason to go through the same thing all over again. For once take the game off the rails, and make the game more dynamic.

That last line pretty much explains how I feel.

I dont wanna sound like a graphic whore but its 2008. I dont want Snes or Nes graphics. Im not even a fan of HD graphics too much. But give me something "Stylized" on Wii because I know it can handle that. I also think only a small majority of the fans want an 80's/90's looking game. I certaintly dont.

Wait you said some people dont want them do anything different yet you want a retro game? So isnt that kinda the same thing but with worse graphics?

@Dodece
So you want Zelda to turn into an open-world RPG basically?

Majora's Mask 2........Zelda fixed.

The worst thing would be if Nintendo decided to make Zelda a "mature" franchise.

thats the best thing they could do seriously, a great ending with link dying in the end in HD.

Another OoT clone.

I am glad Miyamoto is (supposedly) stirring it up a bit this time

I don't think Miyamoto is really required to stir things up.  Anouma just needs to stop trying to cater to the fans.  Majora's Mask is by far his most unique Zelda, and it came just a short while after OoT.  It was after that when fans were bitching about things being too different that he started to scale things back, and we eventually ended up with Twilight Princess.

If he'd stop listening to us and start following his instincts, we'd have more stuff like MM.

Of course, now that fans are actually begging for something a bit different, maybe listening to us won't have the same results.

Videogame fans never know what they're talking about. They always want more of what they've already had, just improved.

That's why Nintendo is the best developer. They like to add a bit of "WTF" into their games.

Nintendo + WTF = Epic Win

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.
