Forums - Sales - Nintendo makes $1 billion profit for Q1 08

@Pristine: Still crying? :S

Come on give credit to Nintendo for what it has achieved. You just came in here and said "Nintendo is a casual company, I'm afraid of the future".

Don't be afraid Sony will keep on releasing the games you want (or not) But much spaced between them. Don't tell me none of the sequels Sony could release don't interest you. BTW Wii's line up this year is fabulous. Next year is amazing and to think that we don t know what is Nintendo planning gets me even happier.

Stay away.. Its obvious you are a PS3 fanboy so why do you care about the games for the Wii?

 1. It was unnecessary for you to state that I was a PS fanboy as I've already stated it myself (correction, I'm a PS fanboy not just ps3, the combination of the consoles is why I love the PS brand not just the ps3 as an entry by itself)

2. I don't care about the wii's games, only where the industry is heading. Nintendo is the current leader and I don't like where they are leading the industry to. I've stated why and people tried to debunk my arguements, hence, the long thread.

@Pristine20: So now it's about the "near future"? I thought we were talking about long-term market trends. Go see the thread about 2009 wii games (not many yet announced, which is understandable, but still valuable information).

I'm starting to agree with Zucas, your Jedi debating skills are very unpolished yet.

I stated "near future" as what E3 represents and I personally think it covers 2009 as well.

That just goes to show that you ignore important aspects of Nintendo's new strategy. They have clearly stated that they will rarely hype titles which are far from being released. I'm starting to have 2007 flashbacks here.

I'm actually hoping you're right because I'll hate to see the industry reduced to clones of wii music so "everyone can play"

 Only 2007?

I'm having flashbacks to 2005 (when Nintendo used E3 to demonstrate Nintendogs, Brain Training, and Animal Crossing: Wild World), 2006 (when Nintendo use a large portion of E3 to demonstrate Wii Sports, Wii Music and Wii Play), and 2007 (when Nintendo used a large portion of E3 to demonstrate Wii Fit). At every step people have claimed that Nintendo abandoned their "Core" gamers, and because of Nintendo's focus on these games at E3 (the only event that gets mainstream attention) these games have sold an amazing ammount and grew the industry in a way that no other games have.

I can't remember the topic... No one spoke about Wii fit number in comparison with VGC numbers. Will there be an adjustment (like Guitar hero DS and wii last week)?

Reading Zucas and Pristine argue made me stupider.

"[Our former customers] are unable to find software which they WANT to play."
"The way to solve this problem lies in how to communicate what kind of games [they CAN play]."

Satoru Iwata, Nintendo President. Only slightly paraphrased.

Really cause reading that argument made me feel more right haha. I think you need to have a smile put on your face. Hmm.

Anyways I still don't understand what Pristine's argument was or how it pertains to this thread. Silly fanboy is all I can think of.

What's wrong with VGC's Wii Fit numbers?

Numbers released today are for the last 3 months ( April-June). WiiFit was launched in Japan last December and at the current date it has sold to consumers about 2.3 million units in Japan alone.

LOL.  I thought it was about to get back on track for a second there, but alas.  Congrats NJ5, Zucas, and that other poster.
