Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo likes to shoot themselves in the feet

If by their feet you mean the heads of the competitors, then yeah.

Of all things in the history of the world that could be described as shooting yourself in the foot, Nintendo gaming division has to be the least likely candidate for that lable.

The things you mentioned are at least unimportant, and at best planned strategies that go far deeper than anything you or I could imagine.

This topic shall follow you. Eternal disgrace.

Quoting this graph again, just because...

Nintendo has just released their latest financial report.

In the 3 months between April and June, they shot themselves in the feet again by making a $1 billion profit.

Lets face it, Nintendo can't see their feet because they're wading waist deep in money. As such shooting them becomes difficult.

wow had no idea disney was in second ! what a twist !

Indeed, what did Disney publish again?

It's the entire consumer division ( inside there is also the videogame business ). Think MS' EDD.

I wont be surprised if Nintendo doesn't release any new games til 2009. I just see 2009 as the year they release major games, StarFox, Pikmin, New Mario game, new Zelda... They are already doing so well, they don't need to keep forcing it, just back down a little, work on the games they are developing, then release said games when time is due.

Like fans of any major sports team, Nintendo fans are fickle about short term decisions, but fiercely loyal at their core.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

This thread clearly is a "joke" thread, i use quotes, because the OP clearly didn't mean his/her opinions as a joke, but attempted to mask them under the joke

In any case, the graph and the $1billion profit completely "/thread"s this thread

Nintendo seems to be working on supply issues... they only seem to. It is still impossible to find a Wii in the US.

game stop they have all the wiis you could want

consoles i own ps12 gba ds gc wii

Well, I'll never understand the mentality of the people who use the OP's point #3 against the Wii.

If you are suffering from the fact that your favourite company's console isn't first, but yet remained a devout fan. You should feel so happy that you "celebrate in the streets" with all those new people out there that Nintendo's "carrying a trophy on a victory bus which is slowly moving its way through the city centre".

Just picture Spanish football fans when their team won the Euro after a 40+ year long major tournament drought and Italians when their team won the World Cup after a 24 year gap!
