They still sell variations of the Megadrive in south america and they still sell a version in the uk ala a kind of 20-in-1 type thing with a hardwired controller and what not for £20.

Do you think if they started production of the dreamcast again that it would be a 10 year plan success also.

You do realize those aren't Sega manufactured? They are part of the Radica Games Play TV series.

There have been lots more consoles than that that have been in production for more than 10 years.

Anyway, "10 year plan" just means they plan to support that console for 10 years, it's not really an amazingly new idea, quite a few consoles achieved this before Sony was even in the business. It's not just the winning console either, Sega Master System was outsold 5-1 worldwide, but still lasted over 10 years.

Even discounting Brazil the last licensed game for it was over 10 years after first release.
