GameFly Announces Fully Integrated Campaign on Xbox Live

GameFly gives gamers a chance to win Metallica concert tickets and brings exclusive subscription offer to Xbox Live.

July 29, 2008 - GameFly, the leading online video game rental service, today announced a fully integrated campaign with Microsoft to execute a multi-tiered program on the Xbox Live online entertainment network. This relationship will provide another avenue for users to learn about the benefits of GameFly. The program includes a special subscription offer exclusive for Xbox Live members -- $5.95 for the first month of GameFly -- plus 400 Microsoft Points, which can be used to purchase downloadable content on Xbox Live Marketplace for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft. The campaign will run now through September 13, 2008.

The GameFly presence on Xbox Live includes a GameFly Branded Destination Experience (BDE) which lets users learn more about GameFly, watch the newest commercial and download GameFly Themes and Gamer Pics. Additionally, Xbox Live members can enter the "Register and Win" Sweepstakes, with a grand prize package featuring tickets to meet and see multi-platinum recording artist Metallica perform.

"Working with Microsoft and establishing a presence on Xbox Live is a natural fit for GameFly," said Sean Spector, GameFly's co-founder and senior vice president, business development and content. "With millions of Xbox Live members in the U.S., this is a great way to share the benefits of GameFly with the largest gaming community in the console market."

"We're delighted to work with GameFly and provide the passionate community on Xbox Live access to exclusive offers and exciting new experiences," said Mark Kroese, General Manager for the Advertising Business Group under Microsoft's Entertainment & Devices division. "Programs such as GameFly are a great example of how brands can create engaging and valuable offerings for members on Xbox Live."

"Register and Win" Sweepstakes
To enter the sweepstakes, users must download a Gamer Pic or GameFly Theme from the GameFly BDE. The grand prize is two tickets to a Metallica concert, meet-and-greet with the band and an Xbox 360 signed by Metallica. Travel and accommodations to the show are also included. Additional prizes include 1 year and 6 month GameFly memberships and a copy of Mercenaries 2: World in Flames for the Xbox 360 from EA. The sweepstakes runs through September 13, 2008 and winners will be selected soon after.

I wonder how it would work if you already have a Gamefly account?

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

Danm this is great. I was thinking about signing up again with so many games coming out and to catch up on some of the older ones. Again is one of those things that if you already have the service like the netflix deal it enhances the value of the 360.

By the way I highly recommend gamefly as the only reason why I stopped was because I been playing an MMO city of heroes since some new content had been released. Especially with today's game being 5-15 hours long you can beat or play alot more games then paying $60 for just 1. Only time I recommend buying is if you sure your going to keep a game for more than 3 months. Also if you buy from them you just keep the game and they send you the box and manual brand new for free. Finally they have the lowest prices for used games.

Darn, I already have accounts for both, and I just signed up for 3 months at Gamefly to lock in lower rates...oh well...nice to see the activity tho.

I was about to sign up for Gamefly and this is great news. It looks like MSFT is clinching the HD videogaming market in the US.
