I suddenly have a desire to give all my money to EA, so they can bid even higher.
Or even better, give all my money to Take Two so they can stay independant.

I doubt it... i think MS might buy TT but i think Rockstar would run away and go independent again or ask to be sold so TT make money and then Sony and MS would be in a bidding war over Rockstar which i personally think Sony would win, not through more money but because MS would also be buying TT at the same time and therefore have less money to offer Rockstar.

Microsoft might as well buy a church and try and own religion. I wouldnt put it past them

Not going to happen.

Microsoft has its hands full covering their core business. Their getting passed on all sides there. They're not going to do a take-over for a department that just this year made its first profits.
Besides that, the costs can never be recoverd by putting TT's games only on 360. You have to remember that buying a publisher to become a first party will decrease the software sales dramatically. And since GTA4 is already out the door, the main competitive edge is gone as well.
