It really depends on what, if any, extra content is provided. If I get a making of DVD and some nice stuff, then yeah, I might consider it. But if it's just a different cover on the front, I'll keep my cash for something else.

considering we don't get too many special editions over here, if there's one game I think it's worthy I'll get it. I pre-ordered Spore special edition. the only problem is that today what's "special" was standard years ago. at least that's what I think considering I have a printed Civ2 tech tree which came with the standard package.

Only if its music like Tool "Salival"

Games wise never bothered. I have found with at least 2 PS3 exclusives, content like commentary and making of's are already included as unlockable content, like in Heavenly Sword and Lair not too sure if these are the only games with this as I haven't checked in other games yet. But it seems you don't need to buy SE to get these features anymore.

Uncharted does, but none of those games have special editions
