well unless theres something good in it like video extreas. I got the battlefield bad company special edition and it gives you real cool making of documentary, multiplayer tips for every map and real powerful guns for multiplayer straight outta the box .very good

I love the idea. They should have all been in a steel box design, like Perfect Dark Zero, along with any other extras. If they were, I'de be 100% satisfied. The tin box idea kind of sucks, they damage easily and sometimes the game doesn't come in a case. Nevertheless, I always buy special edition, or the best edition, if they are avaiable

It seems the only games that have special editions are games that are "special". Not special in a good way...

I got the special edition of Robotech for Gamecube. Though it didn't cost me anymore. I think they can be good values. I'm a nut for Special edition DVDs. I don't share the same passion for games. I don't like the limited parts of it so much especially since you will plan on opening it. I would like them to be executed like they are on DVD where the pretty much are an additional option at least for a good while. but yeah, I'm moreso into movies for SEs but I guess if it becomes more normal for videogames I'll get into them.

Come to think of it I got Zelda Wind Waker. GBASP/FFTA. and Mario Kart DD all special edition and was happy with it. I guess overall I feel they have been worth it. So long as yu knoe yur gonna buy the game.

only if its for a game that i really want, which is why im gonna get the special editions of both Fable 2 and Gears of War 2

Not if its only available at Gamestop. If its available at other retailers, I actually check it out but its usually not worth it. For example, for the last game I bought (soul calibur iv), the special edition comes with an XL t-shirt. 2 things:

1. I wear size M "fit" t-shirts
2. I hate looking like a walking billboard. I feel like I should be paid to walk around advertising the game and not the other way around!
