Forums - Nintendo - Activision will truly benefit from lack of nintendo games this fall.

I think Nintendo really planned in giving this Holiday to third parties. They need to make a lot of room for third party software since all first party are of quality to their respective genre's...

I'm suspecting they are preparing MotionPlus launch with other software beside WiiSport Resort.

with nintendo's weak line-up its impossible to imagine anything but positive news for everyone else. i buy about 20 games a year and probably won't buy any more nintendo games this year (AC is a maybe).

The real question for me is - do i buy third party nintedo games or games for my 360? I haven't bought a game for my 360 in over a year but that will probably change soon.

I'm in exactly the same frame of mind - i've only bought one 360 game this year and i'm torn between 360 and DS games for the rest of the year.  Took the opportunity and got Hotel Dusk 215 and Apollo Justice Ace Attorney to keep me going for now.

I think it's because of these type of games why they're doing it - Wii will always get multiplat releases but if these exclusive games had a bad holiday season then would the THQ's of this industry support Wii so heavily next year?

I personally do think all of these above games will do well - it's Madworld i'm rooting for.

The absence of any huge exclusive games for the Wii this holiday season really does create a 'Jump Ball' situation for third party publishers; there are going to be (roughly) 30 to 40 Million Wii owners who will buy between 2 and 4 games (on average) from July 1st and December 31st this year and (currently) there are few games for them to fixate on. Who wins out will mainly depend on how well marketed a game is and how high quality it is ...
