Forums - Gaming - Do you still play last-gen games than current gen?

I play Crimson Skies, Fable, Halo and Halo 2, Full Spectrum Warrior, Counterstrike and a few others on my 360, SOCOM, Test Drive Unlimited and a few others on my PS3 and Mario 6, Donkey Konga (that bongo game), that Star Wars pilot game on my Wii (I never owned a Gamecube).

I have a grip of current titles, and I do not feel like I am missing anything. Matter of fact, I feel like I have expanded my gaming opportunities with having machines with BC.

You have to realize - I am an old skool gamer. I still have an NES, SNES and a grip of older systems. If I fall for a game, it's for life.

Actually at this point I've been playing my old PS2 and PS1 games more than PS3 games.

Yup, thats what I have been doing too!! since I have owned my PS3.

I owned the Metal Gear Solid Collection and then the Devil May Cry Collection. Then I traded them in because i wasn't playing them and i wanted to just play PS3 games. Now I feel like I'm missing some really good PS2 Xbox and Gamecube games that I need to play and thats why I will go and buy them.

I think I will only buy the games that are important and that need to be played.

C) I will try and do this one, considering I have accepted that I will buy games because its my favorite hobby of all time and it keeps my mind occupied rather than stressing over school and etc....

Yeah, this is where I am and I made peace with it about 8 years ago.

Exactly and thats why since I wasn't able to game to the fullest last gen. Because i.e. I was in high school and I didn't have a job. I now am able to play all those old games at really cheap prices. So thats why I will try and wiegh out my gaming time between all consoles.

I paly whatever I feel like playing. Sometimes its Halo 3 and Super Smash Bros Brawl. Other times its Wind Waker or Banjo Kazooie or sometimes the original pokemon haha. I play what I feel like during the time which could be anything.

The point you need to understand is games that you really really like and that are amazing too you never die. They truly are future proof.

Your right and I am beginning to accept that. And thats more than the reason why I will be buying old games and new games now without regretting that I don't have that much time on my hands.

I will put up a schedule so that I will play this specific console this day and take turns vice-versa and enjoy the those games. I think I will be fine. Because its so many old games on the PS2 Xbox and Gamecube that I want to play.

I still BUY last gen games. Playing them, is a whole other story.

Yeah, me and you are similar. Its just have all consoles and you are missing one....lol....ROFL!!!!!

But yeah, I'm beginning to learn now to play the game if and finish it and not move on till I'm done and invest many hours into it. And it will then get completed.

I play according to my taste and interest at the time.

My most current purchase was Persona 3. I may finish it, I may not, because I want to play some older PC RPGs soon, and then maybe some vertical arcade shooters on MAME, or maybe run through Super Metroid again, or a current gen game.

Point is, alot of current gen games don't align with whatever experience I'm after at the time, so why pigeon-hole yourself?

Focusing on finishing a particular game is a good way to burn yourself out, from my experience.  I really don't see the point unless the game is just that involving.
