Forums - Nintendo - Why do people dislike SSE?

I thought the SSE was good in short stints. I would do about three levels a day and that worked out pretty well for me. It was fun to go back and get all the gold boxes too. Some of those I would have never found on my own.

The cutscenes were great and you could skip through them.

People who don't like just fail and dont know what they've got till its gone. Its a good job Nintendo doesn't listen to the complainers on here otherwise the next smash could be Smash Play Resort.

I didn't really like SSE. Smash Bros. just isn't a platforming game. I love platformers, especially 2D, but I just couldn't get into SSE.

G-d yes. I forgot about that maze.

That maze was a way for them to increase the length of the game by two hours, by making you go through that exercise in Tedium.

That sucked so much. And the platforming was bad because of the fact that the controls are very unresponsive for platforming. It's very loose, which is fine for the game, but for SSE, tighter controls would have made it much more enjoyable.

Because it was a fighting engine used on platforming, It never works, even for smash Bros.
For me it was a medicore Kirby game at it is best.

I enjoyed it alot with my little brother and sister actually.

^^^ This is what you get for blowing a rumor out of proportion

Chocobo brain damage!!! Here, drink this diet Coke..*runs*

Currently playing :

VC - Ogre Battle March of the Black Queen
Wii - New Super Mario Bros. Wii
DS - Glory of Heracels

it was long, not made well, used a bad platforming engine (the characters have different jumps and floatiness, meaning they have accomodate many different sets in one set of stages), enemies were stupid, it was repetitive, the story had to be explained on teh dojo after release (aka it had almost no real given substance), and it was long and repetitive.

it took away from me playing the game, not to mention how different from melee it is (which for me is a bad thing, i still play melee). basically i like it for two stages and then it got annoying.

my pillars of gaming: kh, naughty dog, insomniac, ssb, gow, ff

i officially boycott boycotts.  crap.

Why are people complaining about the maze making it artificially longer? That was a completely neccessary point in the entire story, which revolved around the fact that teh main badguy (i don't even care what his name was) was stealing pieces of the world for his own. that's what those big purple things DID.
Was I the only person smart enough to realize "oh hey, pausing brings up a map, that could be useful or something"

Seppukuties is like LBP Lite, on crack. Play it already!

Currently wrapped up in: Half Life, Portal, and User Created Source Mods
Games I want: (Wii)Mario Kart, Okami, Bully, Conduit,  No More Heroes 2 (GC) Eternal Darkness, Killer7, (PS2) Ico, God of War1&2, Legacy of Kain: SR2&Defiance

My Prediction: Wii will be achieve 48% market share by the end of 2008, and will achieve 50% by the end of june of 09. Prediction Failed.

Snap, me and my brother thought it was cool that the bombs were taking the world.  And that those spheres Tabu wrapped himself in were the exact areas each bomb had covered.

Having played, loved and replayed Kirby Superstar on multiplayer with my brother there was no chance for us to dislike SSE or how it plays (exactly the same).  The only thing I didn't like was if I ever had to be Yoshi, heh.

Cutscenes are awesome and thats why Nintendo should make a movie like that.;..Would be epic but yeah I also found it repetive.
