Forums - Sony - Metal Gear Solid 4 is now a Bargain Bin Game.

Apparantly after one month of release MGS4 can be found in the bargain bin. I suppose retailers may have ordered too many copies. Or perhaps people finished the game too quick and sold their games back to shops recirculating the copies again. Sorry if this was already posted.

Is this usual in Japan?

It must be.  The retailer margins are razor thin -- they wouldn't buy to put in bargain bins on purpose.

Well sales have died off in Japan, this makes sense

(yes, i have entered Sony protective fanboy mode)

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD

Wow. Just wow. Didn't see that coming, especially after just one month...

What I meant was - is it usual for games to be put in the bargain bin so soon?

That's the place where that game belong... =p

Yes, it's normal for Japan. That's usually why games disappear from the media create/famitsu lists so soon, and why MGS4 will struggle to get past 700k.

It depends how many copies retailers ordered at launch. I heard somewhere around a million. That leaves around 300,000 copies floating around for a game without legs really. Add that you can easily get a used game for less and sales will continue to weaken.
