Forums - Gaming - ps3 or a new pc?

Hi, i need some advice. Since my computer took a crap and I am now forced to decide between a buying a PS3 or a brand-new PC. I guess this brings back the old PC vs Console debate.

Option 1:

PS3: $399

Gamefly: Free Month then $17/month

Option 2:

New PC: $900

Steam games: $39-59 each

Simple math is telling me that option 1 will be a lot better on my wallet. I already have a good size flat screen and a basic computer for work, but can't install any games on it. The ps3 sounds sick and with blu ray! Also, i've been wanting Gamefly for years but with PC gaming it just isn't an option. 2 at time would be nice but think ill start with 1 but my friend says he get all the new game from them.

before i thwow down on these, any thoughts?

And will you use a PC for work and study??

$900 for a PC??? Are you buying a brand-name PC, or are you gonna build one yourself?

PC is the best. No argument.

PS3 is good though. I recommend folklore.

Just remember that all the 360 exclusives will come out on PC eventually.

PC, because $900 is not necessary.

Get a

3 things that matter here dude

Your Budget/ PS3 is cheaper, but games are generally cheaper for PC, but upgrading is pricey on PC

Features that you want/ um.... That's a long list... especially for pC LOL, but ps3 has alot of nice features aswell

What games do you want/ Nothing needs to be said here

Good luck!

Get the PC. You'll make up that difference in price after a few years or so just because the games are so much cheaper. Also the PC has more and better games and games like FPS MMO and RPG all play better on the PC.

PC Gamer

a PC is handy if your planning it to use it as more than only a game machine.. work/school etc.. if you like RTS, Simulations, MMO and FPS then this is a great buy

But the PS3 is a great game machine with a lot of exclusives.. Like MGS4, Uncharted, Ratchet & Clank, Resistance.. etc And it has great upcoming games like GT5, Killzone 2, little Big planet, FFXIII etc.. and if you don't have a bluray player this is a great buy.

So it's up to you.. what will you use it for and what games do you prefer..

You can get an awesome PC for $900 right now. I have all the consoles, and i still prefer the PC for all my gaming. Besides, if you want a blu-ray player, grab one for the PC for $120 and run a cable from the video card to your tv. I have my pc's second GPU port running HDMI to my 57 inch and watch all my blu-ray from my pc to my tv and it looks awesome in 1080p.

Had to change my sig to get some moderator to quit bitching about it......
