Forums - Microsoft - What metacritic rating do you think these exclusives will get? Challenge!

There are 8 exclusives from Onyxmeths list that are still to come this year and heres the challenge - can you pick their metacritic score before they arrive?

These are my picks for the ratings for each game.

90%+ AAA games:

  1. Gears of War 2 (I would think 96% like the last game)
  2. Banjo Kazooie, looks like fun and critics reward innovative games ( 92% most likely for me)
  3. Left 4 Dead - So long as they treat it nicely with regards to graphics I would have to give it a good shot at 92% metacritic.
  4. Fable 2 - Looks pretty awesome, its ironic that this is really the first game of this type this generation aside from Oblivion. Should be reviewed - 93% as well based on feedback from E3.

85%+ AA Games:

  1. Last Remnant - Looks like the best JRPG to come this generation so far, it seems like quite a lot of fun. 87%

80%+ Great games

  1. Infinite Undiscovery - looks pretty good, it strikes me as quite a fun JRPG but doesn't show quite the same feel and polish as Last Remnant. 81%
  2. Too Human - Its going to be loved by some, hated by some but I think it should manage a respectable 80% showing.

70%+ Still good but falls to the lovers of the genre/series a lot.

  1. Tales of Vesperia, probably 78% like Lost Odyssey

So do you think you can do better than me? Lets predict how the 8 major exclusives left for the year perform huh? Lets keep score - if you're spot on get 5 points, if you're within 1% either way get 2 points and if you're within 2% either way get 1 point.

Entry closes August 9th - A week before the release of Too Human and Tales of Vesperia.

Tease.

Around the Network

Only AAA title I see is Gears of War 2. The other titles I have my doubts about and will score between the 70% to 89.9% range.

Left4Dead and Fable 2 = AA Games. Banjo and the rest  = A Games

gears of war 2
fable 2
left 4 dead

will probably get something around 90

i think banjo, and last remnant will end up around 80

infite and too human will end up at 75 i think

Gears2 & Left 4 Dead are guaranteed 90+.
I hope fable is great, but we will see. (Fable 1 was a 85%)
Banjo should be high 80s.
LR & IU should be low 80s.
Too Human will not crack 80.

I think your scores are pretty reasonable, however, I'd dock each game about 2-3 points. Not because they deserve to be docked, but because the raters will be wary of scoring 10's after the loss of trust following GTA4. Only the untouchable games(GeOW) will probably not get the dock. This applies to all systems. I could be wrong. --Edit: Looking at your list again, the AAA games you mentioned might get hit between 1-2 instead keeping them above 90.

I agree with OP.:)

90%+ AAA games:

  1. Gears of War 2 - the game will just be awesome
  2. Left 4 Dead - Reviewers love co-op and Valve

85%+ AA Games:

  1. Banjo-kazooie, very good, but not quite AAA

80%+ Great games

  1. Fable 2: great  game
  2. Infinite Undiscovery - looks pretty good, made by tri-ace, so should be great
  3. The Last Remnant - we still do not know very much about it, but I think it will lose points because of it being turn-based

70%+ Still good but falls to the lovers of the genre/series a lot.

  1. Tales of Vesperia, probably 78% like Lost Odyssey
  2. Too Human, I think the reviews will treat this as their whipping boy to make up for their other very generous reviews
