It shouldn't the only thing that might make a difference is like I said, many 1080p TV's have much better screen displays than lower resolution displays which would result in a better picture regardless of what resolution it was. on a 32" set or around that size 720p is just dandy and 1080i is the SAME resolution it's a lower frame rate though. But honestly if your eyes can tell the difference between 60 and 30 frames per second god bless you lol You might notice some motion blur in computer generated images but a good refresh rate and Hz rating would fix that regardless of interlaced or progressive.

Well if you want to send links to my inbox with the specific models you're looking at I'll happily give you opinion but that's about all I can do to help.

LCD is brighter and the Lag issue is long gone with the latest 8ms displays and now even lower responce times some are down to 6ms or 4ms.
The image Signal processing with Samsung and Sony models with 100 or 120Hz motion flow or motion plus processing is the way to go.

ok how about the LG PG60 ?? i saw it in the store and its have a really clear image .. maybe better than LCDs but its price really high lol.

you could try c-nets reviews http://reviews.cnet.com/4247-6475_7-1.html

Personally I've had bad experience with LG but lately they seem to have improved their quality.

I've tried hard to find something that can replace my Sony CRT HDTV, but it seems to me that CRT is still the best. Only thing is, it's one big and heavy beast.

Xbone... the new "N" word   Apparently I troll MS now | Evidence | Evidence

People argue the topic of image quality WAY too much. If purchase any of the top-tier brands -- Pansonic, Sharp, Sony, etc., you are going to get a great picture IF YOU CALIBRATE IT PROPERLY. Even if you downgrade and get something like a Magnavox, Vizio, Sanyo, Westinghouse, or some other "cheap" brand, once calibrated properly it will still look "good". Yes, there are some that just look like rubbish, but my neighbor has a 47" Polaroid and it works great and looks great once all the colors and hues are set up properly. Quit worrying so much about one set having 5% better contrast and get a decent brand TV with the FEATURES you want. I.e. Inputs, Native Resolution, etc.

As far as Plasma Vs. LCD. Plasma DOES have some degree of burn in that has largely been overcome through different technologies in the hardware. LCD "lag" times aren't that bad any more. My Sharp Aquos has a 4MS response time and I haven't noticed any trails, sharpness, ghosting, blur, or anything else when watching HD Football. I game a lot and went through this same decision process and decided burn-in wasn't worth the risk. I shopped and shopped and finally bought a 42" LG 1080P that was a "super sale" at $999. Sears sold too many and couldn't deliver so I forced their hand and they substituted a Sharp Aquos. Point is, be patient and watch for a deal and don't get in a hurry. Slickdeals is a good place to watch.

I hate trolls.

Systems I currently own:  360, PS3, Wii, DS Lite (2)
Systems I've owned: PS2, PS1, Dreamcast, Saturn, 3DO, Genesis, Gamecube, N64, SNES, NES, GBA, GB, C64, Amiga, Atari 2600 and 5200, Sega Game Gear, Vectrex, Intellivision, Pong.  Yes, Pong.

Go for an LCD. Specifically, a Samsung LCD. Unlike Sony TVs, they're both top-quality AND built like a rock.

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."
